Shanghai Disney Resort will launch its Disney Winter Frostival on November 19, 2026, bringing a new Olaf and Anna performance, seasonal character outfits and festive entertainment to its tenth-birthday celebrations. The wider winter programme runs through February 20, 2027.
The resort announced the season on November 4, with Christmas and New Year activities taking place within that longer window. For travelers choosing dates, those shorter programmes matter as much as the overall festival calendar.
Three Dates to Know Before Booking
- November 19–February 20: the full Disney Winter Frostival season.
- December 1–January 3: Mickey and Friends appear in new ski-inspired Christmas outfits.
- December 31 and January 1: New Year character appearances and a special castle celebration.
The new castle-area performance brings Olaf, Anna and the Shanghai Disneyland Band together for an interactive celebration. Returning winter entertainment includes a character cavalcade, snowfall effects on Mickey Avenue and evening castle projections. Christmas decorations also extend into Disneytown and the resort hotels.
Winter Tickets and Hotel Packages
The announcement includes a hotel-and-ticket package for two adults, combining a one-night stay at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or Toy Story Hotel with park admission, meals and selected cavalcade viewing access.
A separate dated-ticket offer includes an RMB 88 dinner coupon for selected quick-service restaurants, with eligible admission dates through January 3. The RMB 88 figure is the voucher’s value; travelers should check the full ticket price and redemption conditions when booking.
More Places to Stay During the Season
The winter calendar overlaps with another resort opening. Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, its third themed hotel, is scheduled to welcome guests on December 16, with reservations opening on November 6. The 400-room property sits beside Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Wishing Star Lake.
Disney has also named Meliá Shanghai Parkside as its first official partner hotel. From November 16 stays, the hotel can sell a limited-availability bundle combining a room, a dated park ticket and an Early Park Entry Pass. These hotel offers have their own booking conditions, so compare the precise inclusions rather than relying on the hotel name alone.
Getting There: A November Ferry Change
For an opening-week visit, one transport detail needs attention. The resort’s transportation page says the Wishing Star Ferry is unavailable from November 4 through November 30 for scheduled enhancements. A complimentary shuttle connects Shanghai Disneyland Hotel with the park and Disneytown during that period.
Visitors arriving from elsewhere in Shanghai can take Metro Line 11 to Disney Resort Station and use Exit 1 or 4. Disney advises public transport on weekends and holidays because its parking areas can reach capacity.
Check the current entertainment schedule before arranging a day around a particular performance. Weather and operating conditions can alter the outdoor programme, and the winter season’s closing date does not mean every Christmas offering continues until February.
