LOT Polish Airlines has resumed nonstop flights from Warsaw to Bangkok, restoring scheduled service after a 26-year break. The first flight departed Warsaw Chopin Airport on October 7, 2026.
For travelers starting in Poland, the return removes the need to change planes on this route. It also makes Bangkok easier to build into a longer Thailand trip, although the changing seasonal frequency means departure dates need careful attention.
When the Warsaw–Bangkok Flights Operate
LOT’s launch announcement sets out the timetable below. All departure times are local.
| Period | Warsaw to Bangkok (LO65) | Bangkok to Warsaw (LO66) |
|---|---|---|
| October 7–25, 2026 | Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, 15:45 | Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 09:05 |
| From November 2, 2026, in winter | Daily except Friday, 14:45 | Daily except Saturday, 09:05 |
A transition week from October 26 to November 1 has five outbound and four return departures. Summer 2027 will have three weekly flights. Check the booking calendar for the exact travel dates.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner journey takes approximately 10 hours 20 minutes outbound and 11 hours 15 minutes back. Flights arrive at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
Why the Return Matters
LOT’s Bangkok route began in 1977 and initially included stops in Dubai and Mumbai. Scheduled service was suspended in March 2000. The 26-year milestone refers specifically to LOT’s regular connection with Bangkok.
The immediate benefit is a simpler journey: fewer flight segments and no intermediate airport transfer for passengers boarding in Warsaw. Travelers coming from another Polish city should compare the full itinerary, since LOT’s route page explains that those journeys connect through Warsaw.
That distinction matters when comparing fares. A nonstop flight from Chopin Airport and a domestic connection followed by the same long-haul service can have very different total journey times. Choose the itinerary around the actual starting point, rather than the headline flight duration alone.
What to Check Before Booking
LOT offers Economy, Premium Economy and Business on its Dreamliner services. Compare the available fare conditions, baggage allowance and change rules alongside the seat price. The airline says its Low Fare Calendar updates every 24 hours, so a displayed fare may no longer be available when the search is completed.
Travelers entering Thailand should also prepare the free Digital Arrival Card. Thai immigration requires non-Thai passengers entering the country to submit it within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. Have passport details, the flight number and the accommodation address ready, and retain the confirmation for the journey.
Use Bangkok as a Starting Point
For a city stay, the Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi with Phaya Thai and the BTS Skytrain, while Makkasan provides a connection to the MRT network. Choose accommodation with the onward transfer in mind, particularly when arriving with several bags or traveling as a family.
Bangkok can also anchor a longer itinerary. We have covered Southeast Asia rail vacations, including a journey from Bangkok through Laos and northern Thailand. That is a separate travel product, but it offers an example of how a Bangkok arrival can fit into a trip beyond the capital.
Our coverage of Khao Lak hotels looks at future accommodation plans on Thailand’s coast. Those developments are not open for this launch season; for an immediate beach extension, choose an operating property and check the onward transport before committing to the long-haul ticket.
