Frankfurt has a new Vienna House address, with a rooftop restaurant that looks across the city’s skyline. Vienna House by Wyndham Frankfurt South has made the brand’s debut in the German city, bringing 104 rooms and suites in Sachsenhausen into Wyndham’s network.
For travelers, the appeal is a stay that combines a neighborhood base south of the Main with dining, meeting spaces and wellness facilities under one roof. The property is at ZiegelhĂĽttenweg 43: its skyline views come from the rooftop, rather than a riverfront setting.
A New Brand for an Existing Hotel
The Frankfurt debut is a conversion of an existing property. The building became a hotel after an office conversion in 2019 and has now joined Vienna House by Wyndham. Its design draws on that history through archival photographs and original plans, alongside travel photography contributed by hotel team members.
The change also brings participation in Wyndham Rewards, giving members another Frankfurt option for earning or redeeming points under the program’s applicable conditions. The current hotel listing describes non-smoking rooms and suites with streaming-capable televisions, mini-refrigerators and free high-speed WiFi.
The Rooftop Is the Main Draw
The Blasky restaurant and bar give the hotel a reason to feature in a Frankfurt itinerary beyond the overnight stay. Frankfurt’s official tourism guide places the restaurant on the sixth floor, with views of the skyline and a glass-enclosed kitchen.
Regional ingredients underpin the food, while the rooftop bar offers a separate setting for a drink overlooking the city. The hotel’s dining page also lists a Sunday brunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A rooftop meal could work as part of a city break even for visitors staying elsewhere; check table availability separately from any room reservation.
For a short stay, having dinner and drinks in the building can simplify the first evening after arrival. It also gives travelers an alternative to treating Frankfurt purely as a place to sleep between a flight and the next appointment.
Business Facilities With Room to Grow
The hotel has seven flexible meeting rooms. Wyndham’s event details specify capacity for up to 200 conference attendees or 110 banquet guests, with catering and audiovisual support available. Those are different event configurations, so planners should match the room layout to the number attending.
One venue, Palmengarten, takes its name from Frankfurt’s botanical garden and connects its planted interior with an adjoining terrace. The property also has fitness and sauna facilities, a lobby mini-market and parking for cars and bicycles.
Further work is planned. The opening update outlines an expansion of the lobby and meeting areas using around 700 square meters of previously unused space, improvements to the outdoor garden and 35 additional rooms by the end of 2027. That would bring the total to 139 rooms and suites; the extra rooms are a future addition to the current 104.
What to Know Before Booking
Wyndham lists Frankfurt Airport about 10 kilometers away, making this a city hotel to consider for a longer stop rather than an airport-terminal property. On-site parking is paid, and the hotel advertises EV charging. Compare the journey from the airport or station with the location of your meetings and sightseeing plans before choosing the stay.
The rebranding also fits a wider pattern we have followed in Germany’s hotel growth, where conversions bring existing properties into international networks. For guests, the useful comparison remains the individual hotel: its location, room category, facilities and the conditions attached to the rate.
Our coverage of Wyndham’s Sports Illustrated partnership follows another part of that brand expansion. In Frankfurt, the proposition is more immediate: an operating Sachsenhausen hotel with a skyline rooftop, loyalty-program access and further development still to come.
