Marriott is preparing to add eight existing hotels across the Netherlands through an agreement with Townhouse Hotels. The deal spans Amsterdam, The Hague, Maastricht, Breda and Eindhoven, combining six planned Series by Marriott affiliations with two additions to Tribute Portfolio.

The company announced the agreement on October 5. It would introduce Series by Marriott to the Dutch market and mark Marriott’s entry into Maastricht and Eindhoven. These are conversions of operating properties, so the expansion concerns their brand affiliations rather than eight newly built hotels.

Which Hotels Are Joining Marriott?

The planned collection ranges from an 84-room property in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district to a former monastery in Eindhoven. Maastricht accounts for three hotels, while The Hague has two. Travelers will encounter different hotel identities within the same wider Marriott network.

Planned Marriott affiliations in the Netherlands
Hotel Brand Rooms
Townhouse Amsterdam WTC Series by Marriott 84
Townhouse The Hague Series by Marriott 88
Townhouse Maastricht Series by Marriott 82
Townhouse Mabi Maastricht Series by Marriott 55
Townhouse Kaboom Maastricht Series by Marriott 79
Townhouse Breda Series by Marriott 106
The Ald Hotel The Hague Tribute Portfolio 91
Hotel Mariënhage Eindhoven Tribute Portfolio 134

The Amsterdam property is currently Hotel Qbic WTC Amsterdam, while the Breda hotel is Hotel Keyser. Their planned Townhouse names are useful to keep in mind when comparing listings and checking an existing reservation.

Series and Tribute Offer Different Experiences

Marriott’s brand guide positions Series as a collection of established regional hotel brands, with an emphasis on practical stays and local identity. Tribute Portfolio brings together independent hotels with distinctive personalities. A shared booking platform does not mean every property will have the same room layout, restaurant or facilities.

That distinction matters when choosing a hotel for a short work trip or a longer city break. Compare the individual property’s location, room category and included services before using its collection name as a shortcut for what the stay will offer.

A Former Cinema and a Monastery Hotel

In Maastricht, Mabi occupies the city’s first cinema building on Kleine Gracht, near the Markt and Vrijthof. Its 55 rooms draw on Art Deco styling, and a private cinema remains part of the hotel experience. Drivers should note that the property does not have on-site parking; it points guests toward nearby parking options.

Eindhoven’s Mariënhage sits within the DOMUSDELA former monastery complex. The property combines historic architecture with contemporary interiors, art by Studio Drift and a courtyard garden. Its own website also lists a spa, fitness facilities and meeting spaces, with Brasserie Rita and Restaurant Goyvaerts in the complex. This is a different proposition from selecting a hotel purely for a familiar chain name.

When Will the Conversions Happen?

The hotels are expected to convert in 2027, according to the conversion timetable reported by Business Travel News Europe. Individual dates have not been confirmed. Marriott’s announcement describes the affiliations as planned, so travelers should not assume that all eight hotels already participate in Marriott Bonvoy.

Before booking for points or status benefits, check the specific hotel’s Marriott listing and the terms attached to the chosen rate. If a stay falls near a conversion date, ask whether loyalty participation will apply on the actual arrival date. An agreement announcement alone cannot settle those details.

We have already covered the brand’s European expansion. The Dutch deal adds another example of Marriott growing through established regional operators, with a wider choice of local hotels for travelers who prefer to book within its network.
