The UK’s largest official Harry Potter Shop has opened on Oxford Street in London, bringing a two-floor version of Diagon Alley to the West End. Visitors can browse exclusive wands and collectibles, stop for Butterbeer at the Leaky Cauldron and have a teddy bear sorted into a Hogwarts house.

The flagship opened on November 4 at The Ribbon, 134–140 Oxford Street, and covers more than 21,000 square feet. We previewed the project ahead of its arrival; the doors are now open, with elaborate sets and shopping experiences designed specifically for this location.

Diagon Alley, a Dragon and the Knight Bus

Inside, shopfronts inspired by the wizarding shopping street surround the merchandise displays. There is an Ollivanders-style setting for choosing a wand, a Gringotts area guarded by a Ukrainian Ironbelly Dragon and a full-size purple Knight Bus positioned as though it has burst through the wall.

Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, visited before the public opening. Warwick Davis, known for playing Professor Flitwick, helped officially unlock the shop.

The Oxford Street Exclusives

Hogwarts house robes, sweets, wands and figures sit alongside a collection made for the new flagship. For fans deciding what to look for, the Oxford Street exclusives include:

  • A Diagon Alley Wand shaped around a stack of wizarding shopfronts, topped by the Gringotts roof
  • A special Harry Potter Funko Pop! figure
  • MinaLima artwork drawing on the Knight Bus and Diagon Alley
  • Butterbeer labels, clothing, stationery and accessories created for the store

The combination gives collectors a reason to browse beyond the familiar character merchandise. The exclusive wand is described as a limited-time offering, so visitors with a particular item in mind should check availability before making a dedicated trip.

A Hogwarts Sorting Ceremony for Bears

The Hogwarts Bear Ceremony lets visitors choose qualities for a teddy bear before its Hogwarts house is revealed. The experience costs £75 per bear and includes the bear, house robe, shirt, tie, scarf, collector’s box and certificate.

Advance booking is required, with slots released up to seven days ahead. Reserving a slot is free, but the £75 charge is payable after the experience. The ceremony lasts approximately five to seven minutes, and the bear cannot be bought separately from it.

Butterbeer and the Leaky Cauldron

The Leaky Cauldron-themed food area offers a place to pause between shopping and photographs. Its menu includes Butterbeer in hot and frozen versions, Butterbeer ice cream, cauldron- and Snitch-shaped cheesecakes, and Hogwarts Acceptance Letter pizza pockets.

Official opening photographs show stained-glass panels, exposed brick and timber beams around the counters, carrying the fictional pub setting through to the food stop.

Where to Find It and When to Visit

The address is The Ribbon, 134–140 Oxford Street, London. Published hours are 10am–9pm Monday to Saturday and noon–6pm Sunday.

Check the official shop page for the latest opening hours before traveling, and book the bear ceremony separately if it is part of your plans. For a shopping visit, the main draws are all under one roof: the themed displays, Oxford Street collectibles and a Butterbeer break in central London.
