Abercrombie & Kent has launched Nile Seray, a 32-suite riverboat sailing four-night journeys between Luxor and Aswan in Egypt. The new A&K Sanctuary vessel carries 64 guests, pairing daily archaeological excursions with a pool deck, two dining areas and suites overlooking the river.
The November debut makes Nile Seray the fifth boat in A&K Sanctuary’s Egyptian fleet. A sister vessel is planned for 2028, extending a river-cruising operation that dates to 1977.
32 Suites With Views of the Nile
The accommodation starts with 33-square-meter Signature Suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows, Juliet balconies and seating areas. Natural materials and contemporary Egyptian design details run through the interiors, while artwork draws on the country’s artistic traditions.
Two Royal Suites add private outdoor balconies with spa pools. That distinction matters when choosing a category: a Juliet balcony brings the river into view, while the larger suites provide space to sit outside.
Egyptologists and Access to Ancient Tombs
Excursions take guests ashore with Egyptologists to explore the temples, tombs and landscapes between Luxor and Aswan. The program includes visits to sites such as Karnak and the Valley of the Kings, with access to the tombs of Seti I and Ramses VI.
Private tomb openings are another part of the offering. A&K promotes after-hours access to Tutankhamun’s tomb and additional special access that can include Amenhotep III or Queen Nefertari, subject to availability. Travelers should confirm the arrangements attached to their specific sailing.
The four-night river journey offers a compact way to explore southern Egypt. It is a different proposition from the longer Grand Nile Journey we covered recently, which combines Cairo with a two-week river cruise starting in 2028.
A Pool Deck and Egyptian-Inspired Dining
Between excursions, guests can use a sun deck with a swimming pool, shaded loungers and an outdoor lounge. The boat also has a gym and two massage treatment rooms, creating space to rest or exercise without leaving the vessel.
Dining is split between indoor and outdoor settings, with Egyptian, Middle Eastern and continental dishes. Contemporary Egyptian artwork and locally inspired finishes give the public spaces a connection to the places visited ashore.
What Is Included and What It Costs
A&K’s published rates include all meals, specified nonalcoholic drinks, afternoon tea, guided excursions with transport and entrance fees, and port charges. Its current information lists hot-air balloon rides, Nubian village visits and felucca sailing among optional experiences that can cost extra.
The lowest published fare is $3,125 per person, based on two sharing, for selected summer 2027 periods. November 2026 rates start at $6,077 per person on the same occupancy basis. Compare the dates and suite category carefully: the widely advertised starting price is not the fare for a November departure.
