Hilton has reached a major milestone in Türkiye with the opening of Hilton Istanbul Airport, a 485-room property positioned beside one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs and designed to serve transit, business and leisure travelers.

The new hotel becomes Hilton’s 100th property in Türkiye and is the first internationally branded hotel located adjacent to Istanbul Airport grounds. Its opening also comes as Hilton accelerates expansion across the country, with 14 new properties scheduled for 2026.

Hilton has operated in Türkiye for more than 70 years, but the Istanbul Airport opening gives the company a flagship property in one of the country’s most strategically important travel locations.

Rooms and suites include runway views and contemporary interiors influenced by Istanbul’s architecture, historic neighborhoods, skyline and the colors of the Marmara Sea. Natural stone, metallic finishes and rich fabrics are used throughout the property to connect the design with the city rather than treating the hotel as a generic airport stopover.

Hilton Is Turning the Airport Hotel Into a Destination

The hotel goes well beyond basic overnight accommodation.

Its wellness facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, fitness center and three treatment rooms, including one designed for couples. A spa and relaxation areas are intended to make the property attractive to travelers dealing with long layovers or arriving after overnight flights.

Hilton’s OXBO dining concept is also making its debut in Türkiye at the property. The brand operates across a restaurant, café and 24-hour bar, with menus focused partly on locally sourced ingredients.

Business travelers are another important audience. Hilton Istanbul Airport offers eight meeting rooms and a grand ballroom with capacity for 250 guests, while an executive lounge overlooks the runway and aircraft gates.

A metro station opposite the hotel provides connections into central Istanbul, including access toward major attractions such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

Türkiye Has Become a Major Hilton Growth Market

The Istanbul Airport opening forms part of a much wider expansion strategy.

Other Hilton openings in Türkiye during 2026 include the renewed Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, the company’s first cave hotel in Cappadocia, the debut of Spark by Hilton in the market and the upcoming Porto Chiara, Curio Collection by Hilton.

That pipeline reflects growing competition among international hotel groups for both leisure and business demand across Türkiye.

Istanbul itself combines several important hotel markets: international tourism, corporate travel, airline connections and stopover traffic. Istanbul Airport’s expanding global network gives Hilton access to passengers who may need accommodation without necessarily spending several nights in the city.

The location also allows the hotel to compete for meetings, airline crews and travelers facing overnight connections.

For Hilton, reaching 100 hotels is less about the number alone than about how widely its brands are spreading across the country.

The Istanbul Airport flagship demonstrates that strategy clearly: a large, premium property placed directly beside critical transport infrastructure, while the wider portfolio expands through resorts, city hotels, lifestyle brands and distinctive destinations such as Cappadocia.
