Hyatt is expanding again in Berlin, with plans to convert the long-established Hotel Palace Berlin into Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin in early 2027.

The property will undergo a phased renovation before joining both the Hyatt Regency brand and World of Hyatt. The move gives Hyatt another major full-service hotel in the German capital and strengthens its presence in one of Europe’s most important business and leisure markets.

Located in Berlin’s City West district, the hotel sits opposite Berlin Zoo and within walking distance of Kurfürstendamm, the Europa-Center and major public transportation connections.

The property includes 239 guestrooms and 39 suites, giving it a total of 278 accommodations. It is designed to serve both business and leisure travelers, with a mix of meeting facilities, wellness amenities and central-city access.

One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is its events infrastructure. Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin will offer around 2,600 square meters of meeting and event space across 18 venues, with capacity for gatherings of up to 900 guests.

The existing club lounge is expected to be reimagined as a Regency Club, while other facilities include the beef45 restaurant, two bars, a spa and an indoor pool.

The renovation will focus on public areas and guestrooms, with Hyatt planning more contemporary social spaces and updated accommodations intended to make the hotel better suited to both work and relaxation.

For Hyatt, the conversion fits a broader strategy of expanding through franchise agreements and repositioning established properties under its existing brands.

Hotel Palace Berlin General Manager Michael Frenzel said the partnership will allow the property to combine its existing identity with the global reach and loyalty infrastructure of Hyatt Regency.

The opening will also expand Hyatt Regency’s footprint in Germany. The Berlin property will join Hyatt Regency Cologne, Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf and Hyatt Regency Mainz, becoming the brand’s fourth hotel in the country.

Hyatt already has a significant presence in Berlin through Grand Hyatt Berlin, Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side, Lindner Hotel Berlin Ku’damm under JdV by Hyatt, and several Mr & Mrs Smith properties.

As of the second quarter of 2026, Hyatt operated 25 hotels in Germany with more than 5,000 rooms across eight brands.

The Berlin conversion highlights how major hotel groups are increasingly using existing independent or locally established hotels to accelerate growth in mature European cities.

Rather than constructing an entirely new property, Hyatt can add a substantial inventory of rooms, meeting space and leisure facilities in a proven location while upgrading the hotel through a phased renovation.

When it opens in 2027, Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin will give the group another large-scale option for business travelers, meetings and city breaks in the German capital.
