G Adventures and National Geographic are expanding their highest-end small-group travel collection with 17 new itineraries for 2027, pushing National Geographic Signature with G Adventures to 67 trips across 48 destinations.
The expansion follows strong demand for premium journeys that combine comfort with expert access, conservation, community tourism and experiences that would be difficult for independent travelers to arrange. The companies introduced the Signature concept as a luxury product built around deeper cultural access rather than traditional high-end amenities alone.
The new additions include trips in Kenya, New Zealand, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Iceland and Ecuador, as well as itineraries across India, Botswana, southern Africa, East Africa and the United States.
Each journey includes what G Adventures calls a Signature Moment, an exclusive or expert-led experience designed to give travelers unusual access to a destination. Previous examples include exploring Norway’s Fjord Centre with a curator and cooking with a renowned chef in Morocco.
In Kenya, the new eight-day Wildlife & Cultural Heritage itinerary combines game drives in Samburu and the Masai Mara with a visit to Reteti, an Indigenous community-owned elephant sanctuary. Guests can also study the African night sky with local naturalists and share a community-sourced meal with women from Amani ya Juu.
The 13-day New Zealand itinerary includes the Waitomo Glowworm Caves with an ecologist, a traditional Māori Hāngī, Milford Sound, a private dinner at Zealandia and a guided twilight wildlife walk. Travelers will also search for rare Hector’s dolphins during a private cruise near Akaroa.
Rwanda’s eight-day itinerary focuses on primates, conservation and recent history, including chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe, mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park and a private discussion at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Iceland’s six-day winter journey adds volcanology and geothermal science, with a private Hellisheiði Geothermal Power Plant visit, time with a volcanologist at the Lava Centre and Northern Lights excursions.
The expansion builds on the National Geographic Signature itineraries introduced earlier this year, which established expert-led access, cultural immersion and purpose-driven travel as the collection’s defining features.
The partnership had already moved further into the premium market with its Signature luxury collection for 2027, combining smaller groups and elevated service with conservation and community-focused experiences.
G Adventures Vice President of Product Yves Marceau said travelers increasingly want trips that align with their values while still providing high levels of comfort and service.
That demand is helping redefine luxury touring. Instead of measuring premium travel mainly through five-star hotels and private transfers, the Signature model is betting that expertise, rare access and meaningful local connections can be just as valuable.
With 67 itineraries spanning 48 destinations, G Adventures and National Geographic are turning that idea into a much larger product.
