VIVA Cruises has renamed its Douro river ship Porto Mirante as VIVA MIRANTE, with immediate effect. The operator confirmed the change ahead of the vessel’s first full season sailing exclusively for the line in 2027. The 120-guest ship entered service in 2024.
The vessel has 60 cabins, with French balconies on the upper and middle decks. VIVA’s ship details list two restaurants, a panoramic lounge and bar, a fitness room, a split-level sky lounge and a sun deck with a pool. The ship was designed for the Douro’s locks and river conditions.
VIVA MIRANTE will operate 32 departures on the Douro between March and November 2027. Its entrance will be updated to match the wider fleet’s branding, and marketing images will be revised to show the new name as the vessel moves into its exclusive VIVA season.
A sample seven-night departure on June 23, 2027, is advertised from £2,295 per person. The Porto roundtrip visits Folgosa, Vega Terrón, Pocinho, Pinhão and Régua. VIVA’s all-inclusive offering covers meals, a selection of drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities; the quoted starting fare remains subject to availability.
We previously covered VIVA’s first agent selling guide, which brings its ships and onboard offering together for advisors. Travelers comparing Douro sailings should recognize Porto Mirante and VIVA MIRANTE as the same vessel while older brochures and images are updated.
