British Airways and Mexican low-cost airline Viva have opened bookings for a codeshare partnership covering travel from March 28, 2027. The agreement lets customers combine BA’s London services with Viva connections to or from 13 destinations across Mexico on a single ticket.

The connections run through Mexico City and Cancún, with Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta among the destinations available. BA’s published route list also includes Oaxaca, Mérida and San José del Cabo via Mexico City, and León and Querétaro via Cancún. Available destinations differ between the two gateways.

The Viva-operated flights will carry a BA flight code and can be booked through ba.com as part of the connecting journey. British Airways Club members can earn Avios and tier points on the codeshare services. Travelers starting in Mexico can continue through London onto BA’s wider network.

The distinction between the selling airline and the operating airline matters when preparing to fly. BA’s partner guidance explains that codeshares are operated by another carrier and that passengers may need its booking reference to select seats. Customers should review the baggage allowance shown for their itinerary.

The agreement adds domestic Mexican connections alongside BA’s own network development. We recently covered its winter expansion, including Colombo and planned Melbourne services. The Viva partnership broadens the places travelers can reach through a connecting booking, with the Mexican sectors flown by Viva.
