Key Notes

  • Hotel Indigo London – Kingston is scheduled to open in 2027 with 90 rooms.
  • The Hampton Wick hotel will be part of the Kingston Bridge House conversion alongside 22 residences.
  • IHG says the property is set to become the seventh Hotel Indigo in Greater London.

IHG has signed a 90-room Hotel Indigo in Hampton Wick, with opening planned for 2027. Hotel Indigo London – Kingston is set to become the brand’s seventh property in Greater London, adding a Thames-side option for travelers looking beyond the capital’s central hotel districts.

The property will be owned by Westcombe Group through its Acre Hotels Collection. IHG’s announcement on October 26 confirms the agreement and target opening year, rather than the start of guest stays.

A New Use for Kingston Bridge House

The hotel forms part of the conversion of Kingston Bridge House, a vacant building previously used as university accommodation. The wider development will combine the Hotel Indigo with 22 residences, bringing hotel and residential uses to the existing site.

Although Kingston appears in the hotel’s name, its Hampton Wick address is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. That distinction is useful when planning a stay: this will be a southwest London base, with a different location and travel pattern from a hotel in the West End.

Westcombe is a new partner for IHG. The owner says the project is intended to create employment and apprenticeship opportunities and work with local suppliers, extending its role beyond adding another hotel to the group’s booking network.

A Thames-Side Base for Southwest London

IHG says the hotel will offer views over the River Thames and access to attractions including Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens and Richmond Park. It is positioning the property for both leisure stays and business travelers visiting companies in the surrounding area.

For visitors building a trip around Hampton Court Palace or other southwest London sights, the opening will add another branded accommodation option to compare. Anyone planning daily journeys into central London should also check the transport connections that suit their itinerary.

The announcement does not give an exact opening date, room rates or a reservation launch date. Those details will matter more to a bookable 2027 trip than the signing itself, so travelers should wait for the hotel’s confirmed availability before making plans around a stay.

Hotel Indigo Continues Its London Expansion

Hotel Indigo belongs to IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio and builds its design and guest experience around the surrounding neighborhood. The Kingston property follows recent UK openings including Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush in the first quarter of 2026.

As of September 30, IHG reported 201 open Hotel Indigo properties and 134 in development worldwide. Europe accounted for 55 open hotels and a further 23 in the pipeline; planned properties should be distinguished from hotels already welcoming guests.

We have also covered IHG’s The Hari partnership, which includes London’s Belgravia. Together, the agreements show the group adding distinct locations and brands across its London offering, with Hampton Wick bringing this latest signing to the riverside southwest.
