Sunday PropTech, the hospitality investment company backed by Prism and founder Ritesh Agarwal, has agreed to acquire Fletcher Hotels from Egeria and Fletcher’s management. The deal would bring the Netherlands’ largest hotel group into a growing European portfolio that already includes a partnership with Sircle Collection.
The acquisition agreement covers 100% of Fletcher’s shares. Completion remains subject to customary conditions, and a purchase price has not been announced. The transaction is an agreed takeover rather than a completed transfer of ownership.
A 170-Hotel Network Across Three Countries
Fletcher’s network comprises 170 properties across the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium: 130 Fletcher hotels and 40 Fletcher Partner hotels. The distinction matters because the network total includes partner properties, rather than describing 170 hotels owned outright by the group.
Founded in 1997, Fletcher employs approximately 5,800 people and focuses on value-oriented leisure stays in three- and four-star hotels. Its locations range from coastal and countryside settings to cities, with properties such as Château De Raay in Baarlo illustrating the range beyond conventional urban hotels.
The group has completed around 60 acquisitions over the past decade. Sunday PropTech says it intends to build on Fletcher’s established operation through investment in the business, its properties and further growth, supported by technology and brand expertise.
How Fletcher Fits Prism’s European Expansion
The agreement follows Sunday PropTech’s Sircle partnership, which brings a different type of hotel business into its orbit. Sircle manages 16 hotels across 11 cities and eight countries, with brands including Sir Hotels and Max Brown and an emphasis on design, food and local culture.
Fletcher adds scale in regional leisure markets, while Sircle offers a smaller collection of city-focused lifestyle properties. The two businesses give the investor access to different guests and destinations, although that does not by itself establish a shared booking platform or loyalty programme.
Prism is the group behind OYO and a wider brand portfolio that includes Motel 6, Studio 6 and Belvilla. As we covered during its parent-company rebrand, the Prism name reflects a business extending beyond OYO’s original budget-hotel identity.
More European Growth Is the Longer-Term Aim
Fletcher chief executive Rob Hermans has described Germany and Belgium as markets for further growth, with France, Spain and Portugal also of interest, according to his Dutch interview. Those ambitions are not a list of confirmed hotel openings.
The acquisition announcement does not set out changes to individual reservations, a rebranding schedule or a timetable for specific refurbishments. For travelers, any eventual benefit will depend on what investment reaches the hotels they use, rather than the ownership change alone.
The next milestones are completion of the transaction and more detailed investment plans. For now, the agreement positions Fletcher for another phase of expansion while leaving the practical details of integration to be announced.
