Europe’s best pizzerias for 2026 have been named, and the ranking shows how far pizza culture has spread beyond Italy. While Naples will always remain the spiritual home of pizza, the latest 50 Top Pizza Europa list highlights restaurants across London, Madrid, Puteaux, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Vienna that are turning pizza into a reason to travel.
The ranking is compiled by 50 Top Pizza, one of the leading specialist guides dedicated to pizzerias. Its inspectors visit restaurants anonymously, order and pay like regular guests, and evaluate everything from the pizza itself to service, atmosphere and overall consistency. In the pizza world, that gives the list real authority.
This year’s ranking again places London at the top. Napoli on the Road claimed first place for the third consecutive year, confirming the city’s growing reputation as one of Europe’s most competitive pizza capitals outside Italy. Founded by Michele Pascarella, who comes from Maddaloni near Naples, the concept began as a pizza truck before expanding into several London locations.
The Top 10 Pizzerias in Europa 2026
The 2026 top 10 brings together restaurants from the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Portugal and Austria. Spain performs especially strongly, with Madrid and Barcelona both appearing near the top, while London takes two spots in the first five.
1. Napoli on the Road – London, England
2. Baldoria – Madrid, Spain
3. IMperfetto – Puteaux, France
4. 50 Kalò – London, England
5. Sartoria Panatieri – Barcelona, Spain
6. Pizza Zulu – Fürth, Germany
7. nNea – Amsterdam, the Netherlands
8. Sapori Italiani U Taliana – Bratislava, Slovakia
9. Forno d’Oro – Lisbon, Portugal
10. Via Toledo – Vienna, Austria
Baldoria in Madrid placed second, helped by a lively dining atmosphere and a menu that celebrates Italian tradition with the energy of the Spanish capital. IMperfetto in Puteaux, just outside Paris, took third place, proving that smaller and less obvious locations can compete with major culinary centers when the product is strong enough.
London’s second top-five entry, 50 Kalò, reinforces the city’s growing position in the European pizza conversation. Barcelona also stands out through Sartoria Panatieri, a restaurant known for ingredient focus and a more personal, craft-led approach to pizza.
Pizza Is Becoming a Reason to Travel
The list matters for travelers because pizza is increasingly part of how people plan food-focused city breaks. A great pizzeria can now sit alongside museums, markets, wine bars and neighborhood restaurants as a reason to choose one European city over another.
The geographic spread is also telling. Pizza Zulu in Fürth, nNea in Amsterdam, Sapori Italiani U Taliana in Bratislava, Forno d’Oro in Lisbon and Via Toledo in Vienna show that high-level pizza is no longer limited to a handful of obvious dining capitals. The best restaurants are often tied to local neighborhoods, making them useful entry points into a city’s food culture.
For travelers, the ranking offers a ready-made itinerary. London delivers two top-five stops, Spain offers both Madrid and Barcelona, and Central Europe brings unexpected names into the conversation. Italy may still own pizza’s origin story, but the 2026 list makes one thing clear: Europe’s pizza map is now wider, more competitive and far more interesting to explore.
