Netflix has begun production on the sixth and final season of Emily in Paris, with filming now underway in Greece before the cast moves on to Monaco and Paris.

The final chapter of the hit comedy-drama will close one of Netflix’s most travel-driven series, a show that has turned fashion, romance and European city life into a global pop culture formula since its debut in 2020.

The choice of Greece follows the Season 5 finale, which left Emily Cooper’s story open after Gabriel sent her a postcard inviting her there. While Netflix has not released full plot details, the setting strongly suggests that Emily’s long-running romantic tension with Gabriel will remain part of the final season. Creator Darren Star has previously described Gabriel as Emily’s “big love,” and the show’s return to that relationship appears likely as it moves toward its conclusion.

The new season will also continue the wider European arc that began after Emily’s life expanded beyond Paris. Season 5 placed her in Italy, where she pursued a relationship with Marcello Muratori and helped manage Agence Grateau’s Rome office before ultimately returning to Paris to focus on her career. Greece now gives the final season a fresh visual setting while preserving the show’s signature mix of work, romance, friendship and aspirational travel.

Lily Collins, who plays Emily, said she is excited to celebrate the final season “in the most chic way yet,” while Star thanked fans for allowing the series to become part of their lives and travel dreams. The cast is expected to include familiar names such as Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Samuel Arnold and Bruno Gouery.

Emily in Paris has been more than a streaming success. Since its premiere, the series has shaped fashion trends, social media conversation and destination interest, particularly around Paris. Netflix has said the show’s first five seasons spent 32 weeks on its Global Top 10 list, reached No. 1 in 90 countries and accumulated hundreds of millions of views. Its travel influence became large enough that French President Emmanuel Macron praised the series for enhancing Paris’s appeal.

That impact matters for Greece, Monaco and Paris as the final season begins. Screen tourism has become one of the most powerful travel marketing forces in recent years, with viewers increasingly booking trips inspired by series locations. Emily in Paris has always presented destinations as characters in their own right, from Parisian streets and cafés to Roman rooftops and now the Greek backdrop expected in Season 6.

The final season is expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027, though Netflix has not confirmed a release date. For fans, the ending will resolve Emily’s personal and professional journey. For the travel industry, it will offer one last test of the show’s ability to turn glamorous European settings into real-world destination demand.
