Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort is expected to open in December 2026, bringing the Grand Hyatt brand to Cancun for the first time. The 500-room property will operate as an all-inclusive resort, combining beachfront accommodation with a substantial dining, wellness and meetings offering.
Owned by Grupo Diestra, the resort sits within Puerto Cancun, a private gated waterfront development in Mexico. Hyatt places it approximately 25 minutes from the international airport, with marina access, a nearby golf course and shopping and dining options within the surrounding development.
The announcement adds to Hyatt’s broader expansion into luxury all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. For Grand Hyatt, the project applies its combination of large-scale hospitality, restaurants and event facilities to a leisure setting designed to accommodate families, couples and groups.
Terrace Rooms and 14 Dining Outlets
The 500 accommodations will include 47 suites, with private terraces facing either the ocean or marina. Some suites will have private pools, while guests booking Grand Club rooms will receive access to a private lounge offering continental breakfast, afternoon cocktails and other experiences.
The design will incorporate an entrance installation by artist Teresa Solar and tiles by Mexican artist and designer María Pizarro. Hyatt says the interiors will draw on the surrounding landscape and local culture, with open-air spaces connecting rooms to their waterfront setting.
Dining will span 14 food and beverage outlets. Quattro will focus on Northern Italian cuisine, Fiera San on sushi and omakase, and Kaab on international breakfast, buffet and lunch service. Bistrot Cigalette, from chef Thierry Blouet, will offer French cooking.
The broader lineup will mix restaurants with bars, a café and market, tacos, snacks and grilled dishes. That range supports both informal poolside meals and more structured evening dining, giving guests options without having to leave the property.
Nine Pools and a Meetings Business
Leisure facilities will include nine multi-level outdoor pools, among them an adults-only pool, an infinity pool and a Beach Club pool. A dedicated Grand Kids Club will provide a separate space for younger guests, while the private Beach Club will have its own restaurant and aquatic activities.
Ritua Sanctuary Spa will feature outdoor relaxation areas and a traditional temazcal, alongside a fitness center and hammock lounges. Guests will also be able to arrange yacht trips, sailing and excursions to reefs, cenotes and archaeological sites. The announcement does not specify which treatments or excursions will be covered by the all-inclusive rate.
For meetings and celebrations, the resort will offer approximately 30,000 square feet of indoor event space on one level. A Great Ballroom divisible into eight sections, two breakout rooms and a boardroom will be complemented by terraces, beach venues and poolside settings.
The combination gives the property a business proposition extending beyond beach vacations, with facilities for conferences, weddings and smaller gatherings. Hyatt has announced the expected opening month but has not provided a specific December date in the release.
