Air France will move all its flights at New York JFK to New Terminal One in 2027, accompanied by the opening of its largest international lounge. Covering more than 2,700 square meters, or approximately 29,000 square feet, the facility will offer seating for more than 400 guests across two levels.
The project brings a substantial expansion of the airline’s premium ground experience at JFK, where it currently operates from the existing Terminal 1. Air France has announced the opening year but has not provided a specific debut date for the lounge.
Designed by the airline’s teams with MARKS Brandimage, the space will combine dining areas focused on French cuisine with a bar serving French wines and Champagne. Separate areas will accommodate beauty treatments, relaxation and work, allowing passengers to use the lounge differently depending on their schedule and needs.
Access will extend to La Première passengers, eligible Business Class customers and Flying Blue Elite Plus members, alongside eligible travelers on KLM and other SkyTeam partner airlines. Business Light fares will not include lounge access under the announced rules, an important distinction for travelers comparing premium-cabin tickets.
Flying Blue Ultimate members will have an exclusive space within the facility. La Première passengers will also receive a dedicated area, with a dining offer developed specifically for them by a renowned French chef. The airline has not identified that chef in its announcement.
For La Première customers, the plans extend beyond the lounge itself. Air France says it will provide personalized service from arrival at New Terminal One through boarding, integrating the private lounge experience into the wider airport journey.
The investment follows the airline’s La Première lounge redesign at Paris Charles de Gaulle, which added greater privacy, expanded wellness facilities and enhanced dining. Together, the projects show how Air France is developing its premium offering on the ground as well as onboard.
At JFK, the lounge will sit within a new terminal designed around updated technology, retail, dining and passenger amenities. For eligible travelers, the practical benefit will be more room to eat, work or rest before departure, with additional private spaces reserved for the airline’s highest-tier customers. The exact opening schedule and further details of the lounge experience remain to be announced.
