FINE, the International Wine Tourism Fair, will return to Valladolid, Spain on March 10 and 11, 2027, bringing together wineries, wine regions, hotels, tour operators and specialist travel agencies from Europe, the Americas and Asia.

The eighth edition will again focus on commercial connections rather than consumer tastings. Its central feature will be a business-matching marketplace with more than 2,000 pre-arranged meetings between exhibitors and international buyers. Organizers are also planning conferences, expert panel discussions, familiarization trips to wine regions, an exhibition area and networking sessions designed to help suppliers build new distribution partnerships.

Around 140 exhibitors from Southern Europe are expected to participate. Previous editions have featured destinations and producers from Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Galicia, Navarra, Madeira, the Azores, Alentejo, Douro, the Canary Islands, Aragon and Italy. The mix gives buyers access to both established wine regions and smaller destinations looking to attract travelers through food, culture and rural experiences.

Spain is particularly well positioned to benefit from the event. Wine tourism has become an increasingly important way for regions to extend visitor stays beyond major cities and coastal resorts. Winery visits, vineyard hotels, local restaurants and guided tastings can also spread tourism spending into rural communities that may receive fewer conventional leisure travelers.

The 2027 program will once again connect wine tourism with olive oil tourism. The combination reflects Spain’s strength in two products closely linked to landscape, agriculture and regional identity. For tour operators, pairing vineyard experiences with olive farms, historic towns and local gastronomy can create more complete itineraries and appeal to travelers interested in slower, experience-led trips.

FINE has been held at Feria de Valladolid since its launch in 2021. Its format has grown beyond Spain through a partnership with Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, which is preparing the second edition of FINE Italy. The expansion suggests that organizers see demand for a dedicated business platform connecting tourism suppliers with buyers who understand the specific needs of wine-focused travel.

For Valladolid, hosting FINE also reinforces the city’s role as a gateway to some of Spain’s best-known wine areas, particularly Ribera del Duero. The fair gives the destination visibility among international travel companies while creating opportunities for nearby wineries and hospitality businesses.

The 2027 edition will therefore be about more than promoting wine regions. It will test how effectively rural tourism, gastronomy and specialist travel can be packaged for new markets at a time when travelers are increasingly seeking authentic local experiences.
