Key Notes

  • Exodus introduces Originals, Classic, Superior and Signature trip styles.
  • The styles distinguish the overall experience, pace and accommodation.
  • Physical difficulty remains listed separately under each trip’s Activity Level.

Exodus Adventure Travels has introduced four trip styles to help travelers choose between rugged adventures, comfortable guided holidays and slower premium journeys. The categories, Originals, Classic, Superior and Signature, give its small-group range a clearer structure around how a holiday feels, rather than simply where it goes.

For travelers comparing similar destinations, that distinction matters. One person may want demanding days followed by simple accommodation; another may prefer extra comfort or more time for food and culture. The operator’s style guide sets out those differences, while retaining local guides and discovery as common elements.

What the Four Exodus Trip Styles Offer

Originals is the choice for travelers who put the adventure first. Inspired by the company’s first overland expedition through Afghanistan in 1974, these trips emphasize rugged settings, challenge and simpler places to stay. The Originals collection includes Walking the Great Wall in China, Cycle Namibia and a camping-based Discover Namibia itinerary, illustrating the emphasis on active exploration and back-to-basics travel.

Classic brings together guided sightseeing, active days and comfortable accommodation. Its range spans different types of adventure rather than a single activity: examples include Walking the Amalfi Coast, Discover Costa Rica, Discover Sri Lanka and Cycling Vietnam. For someone who wants a broad introduction to a destination with a local guide, this is the collection built around that balance.

Superior adds upgraded stays and enhanced inclusions while keeping walking, cycling, wildlife and cultural experiences in the itinerary. Its accommodation is mostly in Exodus’s Superior Comfort and Premium bands. Current examples include Walking the Island of Madeira, Highlights of Uzbekistan and Discover Botswana & Victoria Falls. The practical appeal is a more comfortable place to return to after exploring.

Signature focuses on slower, immersive trips with distinctive accommodation and access to experiences beyond conventional sightseeing. Its mostly Premium stays can include a restored palace in Portugal or private stone bungalows overlooking terraced valleys in Vietnam. These journeys combine a specialist local Signature Guide with cultural encounters and experiences intended to support local people, places or nature.

The Labels Describe More Than Hotel Comfort

The four styles give travelers a starting point for shortlisting, but Exodus says they do not replace an itinerary’s separate Activity Level. A comfortable hotel does not tell you how demanding the day’s walk or cycle ride will be. Travelers should therefore check both the style and the physical requirements before booking.

Accommodation also needs checking at itinerary level. A style indicates what to expect overall, but a journey can use different types of stays along the route. For a useful comparison, look at the actual overnight stops, daily activities and included experiences, alongside the overall price.

A Clearer Way to Compare Guided Holidays

The new structure also gives travel advisers a simpler way to discuss priorities with customers. Exodus is holding training webinars on October 21 and November 5 to explain the styles, according to Travel Weekly. The aim is to match people to the right experience even when they are considering the same destination.

We previously covered the Signature Collection ahead of its 2026 debut. Its place within the wider four-style range now makes that premium offer easier to compare with Exodus’s other adventures, from simple camping trips to comfortable cultural tours.

For the next booking, start with the experience you want: challenge and simplicity, a balance of exploration and comfort, upgraded stays, or a slower cultural journey. Then check the individual itinerary’s activity rating and accommodation details. That second step is what turns a useful label into a trip that suits you.
