Capella is planning its Dubai debut for 2030, with a 115-room-and-suite hotel at Dubai Peninsula on the Jumeirah waterfront. The project will include private-pool suites, a 600-square-meter Capella Suite and a rooftop swimming pool stretching nearly 70 meters.
Developed by H&H and designed by Denniston, Capella Dubai is being positioned as a relatively intimate addition to the city’s luxury hotel offering. Capella’s October 29 announcement sets out the planned facilities, but does not give a specific opening day or room rates.
A Waterfront Address at Dubai Peninsula
The hotel is planned where the Dubai Water Canal meets the sea, within a wider destination combining hospitality, residences, dining, retail and landscaped public spaces. For future guests, the proposition extends beyond the hotel’s own rooms: the surrounding waterfront is intended to provide places to walk, eat and spend time between beach and city outings.
Dubai Peninsula is also attracting other luxury hotel names. H&H’s Aman project is planned at the end of the canal, with a hotel, branded residences, private beach access and extensive gardens. These are separate properties within the district, rather than facilities included in a Capella booking.
Private-Pool Suites and Rooftop Dining
The accommodation plan includes a selection of suites with private pools, topped by the residential-style Capella Suite. Those details point toward a hotel built around privacy and space, although the full room-category breakdown has not been released.
Five dining and social venues are planned, including a lobby lounge, signature restaurant, rooftop specialty restaurant and bar. The long rooftop pool will be accompanied by single and double cabanas, creating a second outdoor setting above the beachfront.
For travelers comparing future luxury stays, the combination offers two different ways to spend a hotel day: time by the coast and time overlooking the skyline. The announcement does not yet specify access rules, restaurant operators or how the different pool and dining areas will be priced.
Family Facilities and Auriga Spa
At beach level, the plans include a family pool and Little Stars children’s club. Wellness facilities will center on Auriga Spa, with a hammam, hydrotherapy circuit, treatment spaces and relaxation lounges, alongside a fitness center, mind-body studio and outdoor exercise area.
The range suggests Capella is aiming beyond a couples-only escape, with family leisure and wellness both included in the design. It also plans a ballroom, two meeting rooms, a VIP majlis and an outdoor event lawn, providing space for celebrations and business gatherings.
Capella’s Approach to Exploring Dubai
The hotel will introduce the brand’s Culturists and Capella Curates programming, intended to build guest itineraries around local culture, heritage and contemporary creative life. The Living Room will serve as a base for those interactions, with staff tailoring suggestions to individual interests.
That service model is part of the distinction Capella wants to bring to Dubai. Its eventual value for guests will depend on the specific experiences offered and how well they connect a waterfront stay with the rest of the city, rather than simply adding another list of hotel amenities.
A Hotel to Watch for 2030
For now, Capella Dubai belongs on a future-hotel watchlist rather than a near-term booking shortlist. The opening year is a target, and the announcement leaves room categories, rates and reservation timing for later updates. The published guestroom image is an artist’s rendering of the planned hotel.
