Rosewood Hong Kong has retained first place in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026, extending its run at the top to a second consecutive year. The ranking was revealed on September 15 at Les Salles du Carrousel in Paris, bringing together 50 properties across 22 territories and six continents.

A Repeat Winner and a Strong Podium

The Victoria Harbour property follows its 2025 victory with another win, recognized for its design, dining and wellness offering. Capella Bangkok takes second place, ahead of Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. Atlantis The Royal and Passalacqua complete the top five.

Passalacqua also retains the Best Boutique Hotel award for a third consecutive year. Europe has the largest regional presence, with 21 entries, while Asia contributes 18. Capella Sydney, ranked 16th, is Oceania’s sole representative in the top 50.

The results also highlight movement beyond the podium. Rosewood São Paulo rises 18 places to sixth, while Las Ventanas al Paraíso climbs 19 positions to 25th, earning the Highest Climber award. Casa Maria Luigia enters at 18th and receives the Highest New Entry distinction, showing that smaller properties can compete alongside major international hotel brands.

How the Ranking Is Chosen

More than 800 voters, including hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and experienced travelers, determine the annual list. The academy is divided into 13 regions, with Deloitte independently adjudicating the results. The awards reflect expert preferences, offering a discovery shortlist rather than a guarantee that every property suits every traveler.

For travelers, the mix spans urban landmarks, secluded resorts and intimate retreats. Comparing location, room categories and the experiences that matter most remains essential when turning an award-winning address into a practical booking choice.
