Aman at Sea has unveiled the first Caribbean itineraries for Amangati, the brand’s first cruise ship, with the inaugural regional season scheduled for winter 2027-28. The 94-passenger vessel will operate voyages across the Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, and Dutch Caribbean, with sailings ranging from five to eight nights. The season is set to begin on November 21, 2027, with a seven-night departure from Antigua, marking the start of Aman’s attempt to translate its luxury resort identity into the cruise market.
One of the more notable elements of the program is that Amangati will not rely on a single homeport. Instead, departures are planned from Antigua, Aruba, St. Maarten, and Barbados, giving the ship a more flexible operating footprint across the region. Aman also said one eight-day holiday itinerary will include a New Year’s Eve celebration at a private resort in Nevis, suggesting the company is trying to create a more exclusive land-and-sea luxury blend rather than a standard island-hopping product. Before the Caribbean launch, the ship will cross the Atlantic on a 13-night voyage from Malaga beginning November 8, 2027, with calls in Cadiz and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
The broader significance of the itinerary release is that it offers a clearer look at how Aman intends to position itself in cruising. This is not a scale play. With only 94 passengers, the product is aimed squarely at the ultra-luxury segment, where privacy, itinerary design, and brand experience matter more than volume. The use of multiple embarkation points and carefully selected island routings also suggests Aman is targeting travelers who want a more bespoke Caribbean experience rather than a mainstream cruise format.
For the industry, the launch is another sign that luxury hospitality brands continue to push deeper into cruise-adjacent territory. Aman’s challenge will be to prove that its reputation in resorts can translate into sustained pricing power and guest loyalty at sea. The Caribbean season is likely to be an important early test of that strategy.
