Canyon Ranch has opened reservations for Canyon Ranch Austin, its new wellness resort in Spicewood, Texas, scheduled to welcome guests on October 15, 2026. The property marks one of the brand’s most ambitious expansions, bringing its nearly five-decade wellness model to more than 600 acres of Texas Hill Country overlooking Lake Travis.

The resort is designed as a full destination wellness campus rather than a traditional luxury hotel with a spa attached. It will include 141 guest rooms, a large spa, advanced health and performance facilities, outdoor recreation, culinary programming and The Ranch Home Collection, a private residential community with 134 homesites.

Located outside Austin, the property gives Canyon Ranch access to a market shaped by wellness culture, outdoor lifestyle, technology wealth and strong regional drive demand. The resort sits on ranchland with 1.5 miles of Lake Travis frontage, placing water access, trails and open space at the center of the guest experience.

A Texas Hill Country Wellness Campus

The centerpiece of Canyon Ranch Austin will be a 40,000-square-foot spa, described by the company as the largest in Texas. It will include 37 treatment rooms, two pools, a cold plunge, rain showers, hydrotherapy elements and technology such as 3D facial imaging and skin analysis. The spa is intended to combine traditional restoration with more clinical, data-informed wellness services.

Fitness and performance will be based at The Barn, a 27,000-square-foot facility with a gym, studios and outdoor turf field. The property will also include a 12,000-square-foot medical center staffed by physicians, clinicians and wellness specialists. Programming will cover areas such as sleep, brain health, preventive medicine, metabolic health, mental well-being, spiritual wellness and human performance.

One of the most distinctive elements is the Women’s Wellness Collective, which Canyon Ranch describes as the first dedicated resort-based practice focused on women across different life stages. Offerings are expected to include support around postpartum health, perimenopause, menopause, sleep, nutrition, hormone therapy and related care.

Outdoor Travel Meets Preventive Health

The Austin property is also built around outdoor activity. Guests will have access to five miles of ranch trails for hiking and biking, a beach area with watersports on Lake Travis, tennis, pickleball and padel courts, two outdoor pools, wildflower programming, gardens and an equestrian program. That mix places the resort between a wellness retreat, active outdoor escape and luxury hospitality project.

Design is another major part of the positioning. Canyon Ranch Austin was created with Texas architecture firm Lake Flato, known for buildings that connect indoor and outdoor spaces. The resort is being shaped as a village of ranch-like structures rather than a single large hotel building, with porches, breezeways, natural light and materials intended to reflect the Hill Country landscape.

Food and beverage will include four outlets, led by Estella, the resort’s anchor restaurant from Val M. Cantu, a two-star Michelin chef and Texas native. Culinary programming is expected to support the broader wellness model while still reflecting the social side of resort travel.

The residential component adds another layer to the project. Homes in The Ranch Home Collection are under construction, and owners will have access to the resort and an on-site concierge wellness program. That positions Canyon Ranch Austin not only as a place to visit, but as a long-term wellness lifestyle community.

For the travel market, the opening reflects the continued growth of destination wellness beyond spa treatments alone. Canyon Ranch Austin is entering the sector with scale, medical programming, outdoor space and a residential model, all tied to a region that has become increasingly visible in the wellness economy.
