American Airlines and Hyatt are ending their enhanced loyalty partnership, changing how members of AAdvantage and World of Hyatt will earn cross-program benefits after several years of closer cooperation.
The companies said the change will not immediately interrupt eligible earning, selection or redemption benefits during the current earning year. Members who want to preserve certain benefits must link their accounts by November 15, 2026.
AAdvantage members who meet the deadline can continue earning World of Hyatt awards through Loyalty Point Rewards until February 28, 2027. World of Hyatt members with linked accounts can continue earning AAdvantage awards through Milestone Rewards through December 31, 2026.
The move affects an arrangement connecting an airline frequent flyer program with a major hotel loyalty program. Hyatt has already been making broader changes to its rewards structure, including an expansion of the World of Hyatt award chart to five redemption levels earlier this year.
One benefit will remain available: AAdvantage members can still choose to earn 500 American Airlines miles instead of World of Hyatt points on eligible Hyatt stays by providing their AAdvantage number at check-in.
For travelers in the United States, the key deadline is November 15. Linking accounts before then preserves access to the remaining cross-program awards while the enhanced partnership winds down.
