Airbnb is partnering with Tripadvisor Group to add selected tours, activities and attractions to its platform, giving the company a faster way to expand Experiences without building all of its supply independently.

The partnership is expected to launch later in 2026. Tripadvisor Group operates one of the world’s largest catalogs of travel activities, with more than 425,000 experiences distributed through Tripadvisor, Viator and thousands of partner storefronts.

Neither company has said how many of those experiences will initially become bookable through Airbnb.

The agreement arrives as Airbnb is trying to turn Experiences into a larger part of its business. The company relaunched the product alongside Services in 2025 and has been adding supply across markets where it sees the strongest demand.

During the second quarter of 2026, Airbnb added roughly 1,000 new experiences in its most popular categories, increasing supply by nearly 80% year over year. CEO Brian Chesky has said bookings are growing quickly, although the business is still small compared with Airbnb’s homes and hotel operations.

The Tripadvisor deal could accelerate that expansion. Instead of relying entirely on experiences created and onboarded directly by Airbnb, the platform can draw from an established inventory already distributed at global scale.

Tripadvisor’s experiences business is powered largely by Viator, which has increasingly become a distribution supplier rather than simply a consumer marketplace. Viator content is already available through partners including Booking.com, Uber and Frontier Airlines, while the company recently became Google’s first connected app for travel experiences in Gemini.

For Airbnb, the opportunity extends beyond travelers booking accommodation. The company previously said nearly half of Experiences reservations were not connected to an Airbnb stay, suggesting tours and activities can attract local customers and travelers using other lodging providers.

That distinction matters because it gives Airbnb another way to engage users without requiring them to book a home first. The company has also been experimenting with creator-led experiences, which can generate demand from residents who want events or activities in their own cities.

Chesky has described Airbnb’s approach to scaling Experiences as “one, to 10, to many,” focusing on proving demand in individual markets before expanding the model more broadly.

The Tripadvisor partnership offers a potential shortcut in that process. Airbnb can increase the breadth of bookable activities while continuing to develop its own exclusive and creator-driven inventory.

For Tripadvisor, the agreement puts its supply in front of Airbnb’s global customer base without requiring travelers to begin their search on Viator or Tripadvisor.

The result is another sign that travel experiences are becoming a distribution battleground. Hotels and flights have long been widely syndicated across platforms. Tours and activities are now moving in the same direction, with major travel companies increasingly competing not only to own inventory, but to control where travelers discover and book it.
