Key Notes
- Preferred added 28 member properties between July and September 2026, its largest quarterly intake since 2024.
- New members include UMusic Hotel Madrid, Diamonds Thudufushi and The Fujiya Hotel in Hakone.
- Eligible stays at participating new members can earn 2,500 bonus points when booked by December 31, 2026.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts has added 28 member properties to its global portfolio, bringing together music-led city stays, historic hotels and private-island resorts. The additions joined between July 1 and September 30, 2026, in what the company describes as its largest quarterly intake since 2024.
The expansion gives travellers more independent hotels to consider within Preferred’s booking and loyalty network. It also comes with a limited-time offer of 2,500 I Prefer bonus points on qualifying stays at participating new members, with bookings due by December 31, 2026.
From Madrid’s Music Scene to the Maldives
Among the additions is UMusic Hotel Madrid, part of the Lifestyle Collection. Its 130 rooms sit alongside the historic Teatro Albéniz, placing live entertainment at the centre of the hotel experience. The property’s facilities page also highlights a rooftop terrace and seasonal outdoor pool, giving visitors a place to unwind between performances and sightseeing.
Diamonds Thudufushi brings a very different setting to the same collection. The island resort occupies a private island in the Maldives’ South Ari Atoll, with beach and overwater accommodation, a house reef, diving and wellness experiences.
Although it is promoted as an all-inclusive escape, the resort also advertises breakfast-based options on its own website. Travellers should therefore check the meal plan attached to the specific rate, along with seaplane transfer arrangements, rather than assuming every reservation includes the same package.
Heritage Hotels Add More Character
In Japan, The Fujiya Hotel in Hakone joins the L.V.X. Collection. The hotel’s official website traces its history to 1878 and highlights Miyanoshita’s hot spring water and its mountain setting. Its inclusion illustrates that joining Preferred can bring an established property into the network, rather than mark the opening of a new hotel.
Other highlights in the full announcement include Palazzo Trezza in Verona, an 11-suite Renaissance residence; Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina; and Hotel Banov Townscape Wuhan, set in a restored building dating to 1910.
The broader list stretches from 360 Hotel Boutique Hotel and Spa in Iceland to Nobu Hotel Los Cabos in Mexico, Nuju Uluwatu in Bali and Wymara Resort + Villas in Turks and Caicos. These properties span Preferred’s Lifestyle, L.V.X. and Legend collections.
How the 2,500-Point Offer Works
The Newest Additions promotion covers eligible stays through March 31, 2027, booked by December 31, 2026. It applies at participating hotels, so travellers should use the offer’s hotel list when checking a particular property.
Under the offer terms, reservations must be made through PreferredHotels.com, IPrefer.com, the I Prefer app or Preferred’s global reservations service. A valid I Prefer membership number must be attached before arrival. The bonus is earned after a qualifying completed stay and does not count towards a tier upgrade.
Blackout dates and minimum stays may apply, and each hotel’s cancellation policy remains in force. Those conditions make it worth comparing the eligible offer rate with other available packages, particularly where breakfast, transfers or resort inclusions change the total cost.
A Broader Choice of Independent Stays
We previously covered Preferred’s Legend Collection expansion, which included several properties also named in this quarterly update. The two announcements describe different views of the portfolio, so their totals should not be added together as separate hotel openings.
For a trip built around a particular experience, the new selection offers useful starting points: a performance-led stay in Madrid, hot springs and hotel heritage in Hakone, or a lagoon-focused break in the Maldives. Preferred membership connects those distinct properties through a shared network while leaving the individual hotel experience central to the choice.
