Key Notes

  • Amari Pattaya and OZO North Pattaya won Creativity & Innovation awards, while Amari Bangsaen received the Unique WOW Experience award.
  • The three Chonburi hotels were recognised at the Ultimate Thailand Green Tourism Showcase 2026, organised by Thailand’s Department of Tourism.
  • ONYX links the awards to its ONYX for Planet framework, while certification and projected cooling savings are separate sustainability measures.

Amari Pattaya, OZO North Pattaya and Amari Bangsaen have received green tourism awards in Thailand, bringing attention to three ONYX Hospitality Group hotels along the Chonburi coast. The recognition covers the way the properties combine sustainability practices with hotel operations and guest experiences.

The awards came from the Ultimate Thailand Green Tourism Showcase 2026, organised by Thailand’s Department of Tourism. ONYX has linked the results to its ONYX for Planet framework, which brings environmental, social and governance priorities into the management of its hotels.

Which Hotels Won the Awards?

ONYX’s announcement identifies the winners and their categories:

  • Amari Pattaya: Creativity & Innovation
  • OZO North Pattaya: Creativity & Innovation
  • Amari Bangsaen: Unique WOW Experience

ONYX referenced the awards in its October newsroom coverage and set out further sustainability context in a November company release.

Three Different Bases on the Chonburi Coast

For travelers choosing a hotel, the properties offer different settings and facilities. Amari Pattaya is on Pattaya Beach Road, with Amari Tower rooms and larger Amari Suites. Its pools, children’s waterpark and kids’ club make family facilities a prominent part of the stay, alongside restaurants, a spa and a fitness center.

OZO North Pattaya combines an outdoor pool and waterslide with a location close to Pattaya Beach and Terminal 21 shopping mall. Its rooms emphasise comfortable beds, blackout curtains and soundproofing, with a more informal hotel experience.

Amari Bangsaen sits on the Bangsaen Beach promenade in Chonburi. The 154-room hotel offers rooms and suites, a pool, children’s facilities and dining venues. It is a separate coastal base from Pattaya, so the choice should begin with where visitors want to spend their time.

What ONYX for Planet Covers

On its sustainability page, ONYX describes work on energy and emissions, waste sorting, food waste, local purchasing and community engagement. It also says its partnership with CarbonWize supports environmental, social and governance data management and carbon tracking.

The group reports GSTC Hotel Multi-site Certification issued by Control Union Singapore, a GSTC-accredited certification body. That is a separate form of assurance from the tourism awards. The GSTC process involves documentary review and an on-site audit by an accredited certification body.

Energy Savings Remain a Separate Project

In its company release, ONYX also highlights SP Group’s cooling system at Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel, which has operated since April 2026. The company projects annual savings of about 900,000 kWh of electricity and around 449 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Those are expected savings at a different hotel in Bangkok, not measured results attributed to the three Chonburi award winners. Keeping that distinction clear helps travelers understand what each announcement establishes.

What to Check Before Booking

We recently covered travelers’ growing interest in sustainable travel. When comparing these hotels, check the current certification details and the practices offered at the specific property, alongside the room, location and facilities that suit the trip.

An award provides a useful starting point for a shortlist. For a fuller picture, look for current information about resource use, local sourcing and community activities, and ask the hotel which initiatives guests can take part in during their stay.
