Mandarin Oriental is taking its hotel identity into the airport with a new Globe-Trotter luggage partnership. Announced on October 8, the collaboration includes cases and accessories in the group’s signature Celadon Green, alongside a special edition celebrating Mandarin Oriental Bangkok’s 150th anniversary.

For travellers, the appeal is a piece of hotel design they can take on their next trip. The hotel group has outlined online sales and selected hotel retail locations, so buying the collection does not depend on booking a stay.

Hotel Details Become Travel Accessories

The partnership announcement describes a palette inspired by Asian porcelain, with ivory leather details, brass finishes and a fan-patterned lining.

Globe-Trotter’s online collection also includes black and caramel designs, giving buyers an alternative to the pale green colourway. The choice is therefore about both the object and its finish: a compact bag, a wheeled case or a small accessory, depending on how much of the collection you want to carry.

A Bangkok Edition Marks 150 Years

The Bangkok Carry-On has its own details. Globe-Trotter pairs Celadon Green fibreboard with natural leather and gold-tone hardware, while the interior features a phoenix motif and an anniversary patch. The leather is intended to develop a patina with use, making signs of ageing part of the design.

The anniversary belongs to a hotel established in 1876 on Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River. Its wider anniversary programme, called Unfolding Legacies, extends into March 2027. The luggage gives that celebration a physical keepsake that can continue travelling after the events have finished.

What the Bags Cost and Carry

In its UK store, Globe-Trotter lists the green Bangkok four-wheel case at £2,295, including VAT and delivery. Its published external dimensions are 42 x 56 x 21cm, with a 34-litre capacity and an empty weight of 4.2kg. An extendable trolley handle completes the rolling design.

Those specifications matter more than the Carry-On name when planning a flight. Globe-Trotter says the case meets most major airlines’ cabin requirements, but acknowledges that some economy passengers may have to check it. Compare the full external measurements and packed weight with the allowance for your airline and fare before travelling.

The black and caramel London Square is a smaller option at £1,395. It measures 20 x 29 x 11cm, weighs 1kg and holds five litres. A top handle and detachable shoulder strap make it a compact bag for personal items, rather than a substitute for a full cabin suitcase.

Where to See the Collection

Mandarin Oriental plans lobby displays at Mayfair in London, Qianmen in Beijing and The Landmark in Hong Kong. Its announced shopping channels include those hotels, Globe-Trotter’s online store and the hotel boutiques’ websites for Bangkok and The Landmark.

If a particular colour or anniversary version is the reason for visiting, contact the hotel or retailer first. A planned display does not establish which models will be available to buy on a specific day. Online prices and availability should also be checked for your delivery destination.

For a frequent flyer, the useful comparison is between the collection’s design, capacity and empty weight. For a Bangkok hotel enthusiast, the anniversary details may carry more significance. Either way, choose the exact model around how you travel, as well as the hotel connection that first caught your attention.
