World Travel Inc. is entering a new leadership era with the promotion of Barbara Barnard to CEO effective January 1.
Barnard, who joined the company 18 months ago and brings more than 30 years of industry experience, will succeed Liz Mandarino, who has led the travel management firm for the past decade.
Mandarino, a 34-year veteran of the company, will remain chairwoman of the board.
Pam Zager, currently executive vice president of operations and travel technology, has also been elevated to president and chief operating officer. Zager has been with World Travel Inc. since 2014 and, like Barnard, brings extensive industry expertise.
Mandarino said transitioning leadership is a milestone in ensuring long-term continuity, praising Barnard and Zager for their contributions. Barnard emphasized that strengthening World Travel Inc.’s innovative travel management offerings remains a core priority as the company prepares for future growth.
Based in Exton, Pennsylvania, the firm currently ranks No. 20 on Travel Weekly’s Power List.
