The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association’s 32nd annual Cruise Conference & Trade Show is underway in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with business meetings and destination partnerships at the centre of the agenda. The conference runs through October 16 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, hosted by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

Organisers had confirmed nearly 100 cruise executives ahead of the gathering, while Puerto Rico projected more than 700 delegates and representatives from over 15 cruise lines. The event connects ports, destinations, tour operators and suppliers with executives responsible for ship calls, onboard offerings and destination investment.

One-on-one appointments give businesses a chance to pitch products and discuss opportunities directly with cruise-line decision-makers. Workshops and networking sessions complement the meetings, while Puerto Rico’s programme includes tours and site visits intended to showcase local experiences and infrastructure to visiting executives.

The commercial stakes extend beyond the convention floor. In its event announcement, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company reported more than 1.9 million cruise passengers and over $255 million in economic impact during the preceding fiscal year. Officials want cruise growth to generate more investment, jobs and opportunities for local businesses.

San Juan’s role as a cruise departure port is also reflected in itineraries we have covered, including Ilma’s Caribbean sailings and Virgin Voyages’ planned fleet gathering in February 2027. The conference gives destination partners an opportunity to discuss the port access and visitor experiences behind that business.
