AmaWaterways said it plans to expand its fleet from 31 ships today to more than 50 by 2032, adding multiple vessels each year across both established and emerging river cruise markets. The company already has three ships scheduled for 2027 on the Rhine, Danube, and Mekong, and has now outlined additional deployments across Europe, Africa, and Egypt.

In Europe, the line had previously confirmed eight new ships and is now adding seven more, including a vessel for Portugal. Outside Europe, AmaWaterways will add another ship on the Chobe River in Africa and two more on the Nile in Egypt. Among the named vessels are AmaNubia in 2026, followed by AmaRudi, AmaMaya, and AmaFiora in 2027, with AmaClara, AmaGaia, and AmaCleo arriving in 2028.

The expansion points to sustained confidence in river cruising as operators push beyond core European routes into higher-growth regions. For AmaWaterways, broader geographic coverage may help capture repeat travelers while reducing reliance on any single market.
