Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is taking shape as one of the newest places to stay at Walt Disney World Resort, with the waterfront property scheduled to open July 1, 2027, along the shores of Bay Lake. The new Disney Resorts Collection hotel will feature 967 rooms and combine nature-inspired design with stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Reservations are scheduled to open in October 2026, giving travelers an early opportunity to plan stays at a resort designed around the relationship between Disney storytelling and the natural world. The property will also be a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom Park, adding a convenient transportation option for guests while maintaining a quieter setting away from the theme park crowds.
The resort’s design draws inspiration from films including Bambi, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, Encanto and Fantasia. Natural materials, earthy colors, original artwork and landscape-inspired details will appear throughout the accommodations and public spaces.
Waterfront Accommodations Bring a New Stay Option
One of the most distinctive features will be the Lake Houses, a new accommodation type exclusive to Lakeshore Lodge. The freestanding one- and two-bedroom retreats will sit directly along Bay Lake and feature A-frame architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows and private porches overlooking the water.
The one-bedroom Lake Houses will accommodate up to five guests, while two-bedroom versions will sleep up to eight. Both will include full kitchens and washers and dryers, making them particularly suited to families and longer stays. Brother Bear-inspired artwork and a Northern Lights-style lighting feature in the primary bedroom will reinforce the connection to nature.
Other accommodation options will include duo studios inspired by Encanto, deluxe studios and one- and two-bedroom villas inspired by Bambi, and larger three-bedroom grand villas based on Fantasia. The grand villas will sleep up to 12 guests and include full kitchens, multiple bathrooms and private patios with Bay Lake views.
Select resort rooms will draw on Pocahontas, while premium accommodations will include the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite, which can sleep up to six guests and offer views of Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom fireworks.
A Resort Built Around Nature and Recreation
Lakeshore Lodge will extend its nature theme beyond the guest rooms. The Wetlands recreation area will include a zero-entry pool, spiral waterslide, leisure pool, whirlpool spa and the Daydream River lazy river. Younger guests will have dedicated play areas called Heron Shores and Otter Springs, featuring climbing structures and interactive water elements.
Dining will also be central to the resort. Moonglade will offer waterfront table-service dining, while Bay Lake Provisions will operate as an all-day marketplace serving fresh food and specialty coffee. Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will provide poolside dining and beverages near Lakeshore Lagoon.
Guests staying in select club-level rooms will have access to The Artist’s Nest, an elevated concierge lounge with refreshments, personalized service and views across the resort. At night, Dandelion Terrace will offer another gathering space with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Disney Vacation Club members can begin making rental reservations on October 6, followed by Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on October 7. Reservations will open to all guests on October 8. With its combination of lakefront accommodations, family recreation and familiar Disney stories, Lakeshore Lodge is set to add a distinctly nature-focused option to the Walt Disney World hotel lineup.
