Tamarind has reopened on the Platinum West Coast of Barbados following a comprehensive renovation, returning as an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort with 111 redesigned rooms and suites. The relaunch brings new dining venues, refreshed public spaces and expanded family programming to the beachfront property.

Marriott International announced that Tamarind’s return completes a two-year, multimillion-dollar transformation of all seven properties in its Barbados Collection. For travelers, the result is a refreshed resort with access to a broader dining network and Marriott Bonvoy benefits on eligible stays.

The guestrooms and suites draw inspiration from the island’s sea and landscape. Multiple swimming pools, beachfront recreation, motorized and non-motorized water sports, and wellness activities remain part of the resort’s offering, alongside a stronger emphasis on experiences connected to Barbadian culture.

New Restaurants and Bajan-Inspired Family Activities

Tamarind now has five dining outlets, including three additions: Harvest & Hive, Caribbean Restaurant Bajan Kitchen and Sugar Shack. The lineup spans coffee, local cuisine and casual seaside food, while Sugar Cane Restaurant serves breakfast and 246 Bar & Restaurant offers local and international dishes.

The culinary focus extends beyond meals. Guests can take part in traditional Bajan fish cake cooking demonstrations, rum tastings and Soca dance workshops, giving the resort’s activity calendar a distinct local identity. These experiences add options for visitors who want more from an all-inclusive stay than pool time and restaurant reservations.

The Barbados Collection’s Dine Around Program also allows guests to eat at participating sister properties. That broadens the available restaurant choices during a stay, although participation should not be interpreted as unrestricted access to every restaurant across the collection.

Families have a new focal point in CAMP Club, an indoor and outdoor space developed through a partnership between CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy. Its activities incorporate Bajan-inspired arts, music and cultural storytelling, bringing elements of the destination into children’s programming.

That combination of children’s activities, adult cultural sessions and beachfront recreation preserves Tamarind’s family-oriented character while giving different generations more ways to spend their time. The renovation updates the property’s shared spaces as well as its accommodations, making the changes relevant throughout the stay.

A Seven-Resort Transformation Reaches Its Final Stage

Tamarind joins Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach Art Hotel and The House in Autograph Collection’s all-inclusive portfolio. Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach have become Tribute Portfolio all-inclusive resorts, while Colony Club reopened under The Luxury Collection. Guests across all seven properties can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points on eligible stays.

Tamarind also forms part of the collection’s west coast “Lifestyle Stretch” alongside The House and Treasure Beach. The concept includes the new Sandtrap Beach Club, positioned as a beachfront gathering place.

For returning guests, the reopening offers a substantially updated version of a familiar resort. For Marriott, it completes the renovation and brand repositioning of an island portfolio that now spans three hotel collections, with Tamarind providing a family-focused all-inclusive option.
