The Trump Organization has officially announced its first branded development in Australia, unveiling plans for Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast, a 91-story skyscraper set to rise in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. The landmark project is expected to become the tallest building in Australia, reaching approximately 335 meters, and marks a significant expansion of the brand’s global luxury portfolio.

Developed in partnership with Altus Property Group, the project is valued at approximately A$1.5 billion and will combine hotel, residential and commercial components. The tower will anchor the central Surfers Paradise precinct, one of Australia’s most popular beachfront destinations, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization, described the development as a reflection of the company’s commitment to delivering high-end luxury experiences in iconic global locations. The Gold Coast project joins a portfolio that includes more than 130 Trump-branded resorts and towers worldwide.

A 91-Story Landmark for Surfers Paradise

The centerpiece of the development will be a 285-room luxury hotel carrying the Trump brand, positioned within the 91-story structure. The tower will also include approximately 270 residential apartments, with prices reportedly starting around A$5 million, as well as premium penthouses that have yet to be priced.

At its base, the development will feature more than 3,400 square meters of commercial, retail and dining space, along with a multi-level podium incorporating an exclusive beach club and resort-style amenities. Developers describe the hotel component as a six-star offering, emphasizing high-end finishes, panoramic ocean views and world-class service standards.

If completed as planned, the skyscraper will surpass Queensland’s Q1 Tower, currently Australia’s tallest building, by roughly 12 meters. The project is being promoted as a transformative addition to the Gold Coast skyline and a major boost to regional tourism and investment.

Altus Property Group CEO David Young said he has pursued a Trump-branded project in Australia for nearly two decades. According to company statements, the final agreement was signed in mid-February, and the project is now moving through design, engineering and construction planning phases. Construction is expected to begin this year.

Economic Impact and Global Brand Expansion

Developers estimate the project will generate approximately 500 construction jobs and a further 500 permanent positions once operational. Altus emphasized that the building will be Australian-owned and Australian-built, while adhering to the Trump Organization’s global design standards.

The announcement comes as luxury hospitality brands increasingly target the Asia-Pacific region, where demand for high-end residential and mixed-use developments remains strong. By establishing a presence in Australia, the Trump Organization adds another high-profile address to its international portfolio, which spans North America, the Middle East and parts of Asia.

Promoters of the project describe it as a defining statement for Queensland tourism and an emblem of beachfront sophistication. Critics and supporters alike note that the Trump name carries strong global recognition, ensuring the tower will draw attention both domestically and internationally.

As plans advance, Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast positions itself not only as a new architectural record-holder but also as a symbol of continued luxury real estate expansion in one of Australia’s most iconic coastal cities.
