Disneyland Paris is entering a new phase of growth with the launch of Disney Adventure World, a reimagined second park that significantly expands its footprint and ambition. Opening on March 29, 2026, the transformation marks one of the largest investments in the resort’s history, with new themed lands, attractions, and entertainment concepts designed to deepen immersion and extend visitor engagement.

At the center of the expansion is World of Frozen, a large-scale recreation of the fictional kingdom of Arendelle that brings one of Disney’s most globally recognized franchises into a fully realized physical environment. The development nearly doubles the size of the park and signals a broader shift in Disney’s strategy toward experiential storytelling, where guests are no longer passive observers but active participants within cinematic worlds.

A Park Rebuilt Around Immersive Worlds

The redesign replaces the former Walt Disney Studios Park identity with a more cohesive concept built around distinct themed environments. From the moment visitors enter through Adventure Way, a landscaped promenade lined with gardens and attractions, the park establishes a stronger narrative flow than its predecessor.

Adventure Bay, a newly introduced central lake, acts as both a visual anchor and a stage for nighttime entertainment. The “Disney Cascade of Lights” show integrates fountains, projections, fireworks and advanced drone technology, including a new generation of aquatic drones. This combination reflects Disney’s ongoing investment in large-scale, technology-driven spectacles designed to extend guest stay into the evening.

Elsewhere, the park blends established franchises with new additions. Marvel Avengers Campus continues to anchor the action-oriented segment of the park, while Worlds of Pixar offers a collection of family-friendly rides based on films such as Ratatouille, Cars, and Finding Nemo. A Tangled-inspired attraction and multiple seasonal entertainment programs further diversify the experience, targeting a wide demographic range from children to adult visitors.

World of Frozen as the Strategic Centerpiece

World of Frozen represents the most significant addition and serves as the emotional and commercial core of the expansion. Designed as a fully immersive land, it allows visitors to walk through Arendelle village, interact with characters such as Anna and Elsa, and experience attractions built around the narrative of the films.

The flagship ride, a boat-based journey through key moments of the Frozen story, uses advanced animatronics and projection technology to recreate scenes with a high level of realism. Surrounding the attraction, themed dining, retail, and live performances reinforce the sense of continuity, turning the area into a self-contained destination within the park.

Attention to detail plays a critical role in the design. Architectural elements, storytelling cues, and interactive features are layered throughout the environment, encouraging repeat visits and longer dwell times. This approach aligns with broader trends in the theme park industry, where depth of experience increasingly defines competitive advantage.

Long-Term Expansion and European Strategy

The launch of Disney Adventure World is not a final step but part of an ongoing development plan. Future additions include a Lion King-themed land and an Up-inspired attraction, both intended to further diversify the park’s portfolio and sustain visitor interest over time.

Disney’s investment underscores the strategic importance of Disneyland Paris as Europe’s leading tourist destination. By expanding its offering and aligning it with globally recognized franchises, the company is positioning the resort to capture both international tourism demand and repeat visits from regional audiences.
