Royal Caribbean Group has been named an official Miami host city supporter for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, positioning the cruise line at the center of one of the world’s most watched sporting events and reinforcing its ties to destination-driven travel experiences.
As part of the partnership, Royal Caribbean will help deliver a series of fan-focused activations across Miami throughout the tournament. A key element will be its involvement in the FIFA Fan Festival at Bayfront Park, which will feature live match broadcasts, entertainment, food vendors and branded pop-up experiences designed to engage both visiting fans and local residents. The cruise line will also take part in stadium tours and organized soccer player appearances, further extending the World Cup experience beyond match days.
Miami is one of 16 host cities across North America selected to stage World Cup matches, making it a focal point for international travel, tourism and global media attention during the tournament. Royal Caribbean’s role as a host city supporter aligns closely with its broader strategy of connecting cruise travel with major cultural and sporting moments that draw global audiences.
The partnership builds on Royal Caribbean’s existing relationship with soccer in Miami. In 2023, the company became a partner of Inter Miami CF, the same year global superstar Lionel Messi joined the Major League Soccer club. Since 2024, Royal Caribbean’s logo has appeared on the front of Inter Miami CF jerseys, strengthening brand visibility among international fans.
Messi has also been linked to the cruise line beyond the pitch, serving as the ceremonial “icon” for Icon of the Seas, underscoring Royal Caribbean’s strategy of blending sports, entertainment and travel to reach new audiences worldwide.
