Plaza Premium Group has expanded its presence in the United States with the opening of its first Plaza Premium First lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, marking a significant milestone for the global airport hospitality provider. The new facility, located in Terminal D, introduces the company’s highest tier of lounge experience to the U.S. market as demand for premium airport amenities continues to rise.
The new Plaza Premium First space opened alongside a redesigned Plaza Premium Lounge in the same terminal, offering two different levels of pre-flight comfort for travelers departing from one of the busiest airports in the United States. Plaza Premium Group had previously established its presence at Dallas Fort Worth with the opening of a lounge in Terminal E in 2020, which remains in operation.
The launch represents the eighth Plaza Premium First lounge worldwide and the second in North America. The brand’s first location on the continent opened in Vancouver in 2024, while additional expansion is planned in other major global airports, including New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Airport lounges have become an increasingly important part of the travel experience, particularly as airlines, credit card companies and independent operators compete to offer more upscale spaces for frequent flyers and premium passengers. In recent years, the sector has seen rapid growth, with industry rankings such as those introduced by J.D. Power highlighting the growing importance of lounge quality for travelers.
Elevated Dining and Personalized Service
Plaza Premium First is positioned as the company’s most luxurious lounge concept, emphasizing privacy, curated dining and personalized service. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by a lounge ambassador and escorted directly to their table, where they can enjoy a sit-down dining experience rather than the typical self-service lounge model.
The menu includes both breakfast and all-day dishes such as brisket Benedict, prime steak tips and duck tacos, alongside desserts like ube cheesecake and warm bread pudding. While table service is a central feature of the experience, a buffet option is also available for guests who prefer a more traditional lounge offering.
The beverage program includes complimentary craft cocktails, wine and beer, along with a premium list of spirits and specialty drinks. Signature cocktails and locally inspired beverage selections are intended to reflect the culinary culture of the Dallas Fort Worth region while maintaining an international lounge standard.
Interior design also plays a key role in the concept. The lounge incorporates leather seating, curated artwork and subtle design references to the Dallas Fort Worth area, creating an atmosphere intended to balance luxury with local character. Additional amenities include shower facilities, quiet relaxation areas and private seating zones.
Growing Demand for Premium Airport Experiences
The introduction of Plaza Premium First at Dallas Fort Worth reflects broader changes in the travel industry, where premium services are increasingly seen as a differentiator. With long airport dwell times and rising passenger expectations, travelers are placing greater value on comfortable spaces where they can relax, work or dine before boarding.
Access to the Plaza Premium First lounge starts at $115 for a two-hour stay. Travelers can also purchase entry to the adjacent Plaza Premium Lounge starting at $70 for the same period. Members of programs such as Priority Pass or eligible American Express cardholders receive complimentary access to the standard Plaza Premium Lounge and can upgrade to the First lounge for a discounted rate.
Certain airline passengers flying in business or first class on partner carriers including Air France, EVA Air, Finnair, Emirates and Turkish Airlines can enter the Plaza Premium First lounge without additional payment.
Both lounges operate daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving international and domestic travelers departing from Terminal D. The new openings reinforce Dallas Fort Worth International Airport’s role as a major global aviation hub while highlighting the growing competition among airport hospitality providers to deliver increasingly sophisticated lounge experiences.
