In an ambitious expansion, Legoland Florida and Legoland California are reaching for the stars – literally. Merlin Entertainments has unveiled plans to introduce brand-new space-themed lands at both U.S. parks by 2026, promising the most immersive and futuristic additions yet to the beloved family destinations.

The new “LEGO Discovery Galaxy” experience will feature the parks’ first-ever indoor roller coasters. These fully enclosed attractions aim to combine thrilling space flight simulations with LEGO’s signature creativity, allowing young visitors to soar through galaxies, dodge asteroids, and complete cosmic missions—all without leaving the ground.

Mission: Imagination – An Intergalactic Leap for Kids

Designed specifically for children ages 2 to 12, the new lands will blend physical play, STEM-based learning, and interactive storytelling. Families will find space-inspired play zones, build-and-launch rocket workshops, and themed eateries offering galactic treats. The centerpiece in each park will be the indoor coaster, which delivers high-tech thrills in a climate-controlled environment—ideal for year-round fun regardless of weather.

“This is a significant leap forward in our North American strategy,” said Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin Entertainments. “We’re creating fully immersive worlds that ignite children’s imaginations, combining the thrill of theme park experiences with playful education.”

Legoland Florida’s version of the land will be located in Winter Haven, while the California iteration will launch in Carlsbad. Both projects are scheduled to open in 2026, as part of broader efforts to expand the parks’ footprint and refresh guest offerings across the continent.

A New Era of LEGO-Themed Entertainment

The announcement comes as Legoland continues to innovate to keep pace with evolving family travel trends. Indoor attractions have become a top priority, offering reliability and comfort while embracing cutting-edge technology. With the new space-themed zones, Legoland aligns itself with the growing fascination among children for space exploration, science fiction, and hands-on learning.

In addition to the rides and interactive experiences, visitors can expect exclusive LEGO merchandise, astronaut meet-and-greets, and character-led storytelling adventures. This expansion is part of Merlin’s wider investment strategy across North America, further positioning Legoland parks as leaders in themed, educational entertainment.

Whether you’re a mini astronaut or a LEGO enthusiast, Legoland’s new cosmic frontiers promise an out-of-this-world experience starting in 2026.
