Hyatt Hotels Corporation is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with plans for a new all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. The company announced that the Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will open in 2029, adding another large-scale family-friendly resort to one of the region’s most popular beach destinations.
The new property will feature 650 guestrooms and suites and will be located about 40 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. Hyatt confirmed the development as part of a management agreement with Codelpa, the owner of the nearby Secrets Tides Punta Cana resort.
The project reflects Hyatt’s broader strategy to strengthen its Inclusive Collection in key Caribbean destinations where demand for all-inclusive resorts continues to grow. The Dominican Republic has become one of the most important markets for the company’s resort expansion, particularly in Punta Cana, a destination known for its long beaches and strong year-round tourism demand.
According to Hyatt, the new resort will be designed to serve travelers of all ages while still offering dedicated spaces for adults.
A Large-Scale Family Resort Experience
Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will focus heavily on family-friendly amenities and activities, a core element of the Hyatt Ziva brand. The resort will include a water park, five swimming pools and dedicated spaces for both children and teenagers.
Facilities planned for the resort include a kids club, a teen club and a wide range of recreational activities such as pickleball and tennis courts, mini golf, climbing walls and a ropes course. A bowling alley and playground areas are also planned, creating a resort environment designed to keep families entertained throughout their stay.
While the resort is primarily aimed at families, Hyatt confirmed that a separate building will offer adults-only accommodations, giving travelers the option of a quieter environment within the same property.
Dining will be another key feature of the resort experience. The property will include five specialty restaurants along with an international buffet, a snack bar, a coffee parlor and an ice cream venue. Additional food and beverage venues will include a beach club, six bars and a juice bar located within the spa area.
Wellness facilities are also part of the development plans, with a fitness center, yoga studio and outdoor gym. The spa is expected to feature sauna and steam rooms, hydrotherapy experiences and relaxation areas.
Hyatt Expands Its Caribbean All-Inclusive Portfolio
The new Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will further strengthen Hyatt’s presence in the Dominican Republic, which already represents one of the company’s largest resort markets in the Caribbean.
Hyatt currently operates 34 properties in the country, including 32 all-inclusive resorts. In total, these hotels account for nearly 17,000 rooms across the destination.
Punta Cana remains a particularly important location for Hyatt’s expansion strategy. In addition to the Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana planned for 2029, the company is preparing to open two additional all-inclusive resorts in the area in 2026: Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana and Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana.
The new resort also reflects the broader growth of upscale resort development in the Dominican Republic, where international hotel brands continue to invest heavily in beachfront destinations.
With strong demand from North American and European travelers, Punta Cana has become one of the fastest-growing luxury and all-inclusive resort markets in the Caribbean.
