Ryanair is preparing for one of its biggest growth seasons in Poland with a record Summer 2026 schedule for Gdansk. The airline will base a sixth aircraft at the airport, representing a US$600 million investment in the region.

With the additional aircraft, Ryanair will add more than 300,000 seats for the season, a 16 percent increase that brings the total to 2.3 million seats across 43 routes. The expanded schedule includes five new destinations – Rome, Dubrovnik, Tirana, Palermo, and Bucharest – alongside increased frequencies on 17 popular routes such as Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, and Malta.

According to Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer Jason McGuinness, the expansion reinforces the airline’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting inbound tourism. The new aircraft and routes position Gdańsk as a key gateway within the airline’s wider European network. Airport CEO Tomasz Kloskowski echoed this sentiment, noting that the investment reflects the region’s rising profile and the strong partnership between the airport and the airline.

Ryanair’s enhanced presence will help drive tourism, offer more affordable travel options, and support jobs across the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The announcement also includes a limited-time fare promotion, reflecting Ryanair’s strategy of pairing major network growth with competitive pricing to stimulate demand.

Liverpool: Continued Growth in the Northwest

Ryanair is also expanding in the UK, adding a sixth aircraft at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for Summer 2026. The additional aircraft marks another US$600 million investment and supports a 15 percent increase in capacity, with 250,000 extra seats and 34 total routes. Three new destinations – Marrakesh, Tirana, and Warsaw – will join the schedule, while 11 existing routes will see additional frequencies, including Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Ibiza, Krakow, and Malta.

Ryanair expects to carry more than 2.4 million passengers through Liverpool next year, reinforcing the airport’s status as a key base within the airline’s UK operations. CCO Jason McGuinness highlighted the importance of maintaining low fares and driving tourism, while also criticizing rising UK aviation taxes, which he argues limit growth at regional airports.

Liverpool Airport CEO John Irving welcomed the expansion, emphasizing the long-standing partnership between the airport and Ryanair and the economic benefits for the wider region.

With new aircraft, expanded schedules, and fresh routes across two major European markets, Ryanair’s Summer 2026 plans underline its aggressive growth strategy and commitment to offering more choice across its low-fare network.
