Park Hyatt has made a striking entry into Malaysia with the grand opening of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur in August 2025. Occupying levels 75 to 114 of Merdeka 118 – the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacifi – the hotel offers an elevated retreat characterized by refined luxury, cultural craftsmanship, and an atmosphere of tranquility high above the city.

A Home in the Sky: Design, Rooms, and Skyline Views

This is Park Hyatt’s first foray into Malaysia and marks its 50th property globally. Situated atop Merdeka 118, the hotel commands panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur’s historic and modern architectural landscape. The 252 guestrooms and suites blend understated elegance with distinctive local design cues by G.A Group, drawing inspiration from traditional Malay kampung architecture through perforated brass screens, woven textures, and rich timber accents.

Each room is crafted as a private sanctuary – with floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in dressing rooms, personal studies, and aromatherapy showers. Select suites boast private dining spaces that offer intimate meals against the city’s glittering skyline. Interiors also serve as cultural canvases, featuring a curated collection from Artlink that celebrates both contemporary Malaysian artistry and natural forms.

Elevated Lifestyle: Dining, Wellness, and Cultural Immersion

Culinary offerings are centralized on the 75th floor, featuring three standout venues: Park Lounge, serving all-day dining and heritage-inspired dishes; Merdeka Grill, where sustainable seafood and premium cuts are served tableside; and Cacao Mixology & Chocolate, the city’s first chocolate-themed bar, offering chocolate cocktails, live Bossa nova, and artisanal treats in a high-altitude setting.

On the 99th-floor wellness sanctuary, guests can rejuvenate within a holistic space featuring a yoga studio, state-of-the-art fitness center, circadian rhythm treatments, Himalayan salt alcove, aromatherapy steam bath, and a 30-meter infinity pool – an oasis designed to align mind, body, and environment.

The hotel also serves as a cultural gateway, offering exclusive guided tours through the Merdeka 118 precinc – visiting iconic heritage sites like Stadium Merdeka, Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, and the Merdeka Textile Museum. These curated experiences reinforce the hotel’s role as a storytelling beacon, marrying luxury hospitality with meaningful cultural context.
