Hyatt Hotels Corporation is entering a defining chapter in its luxury growth strategy, marked by new leadership and a robust slate of global openings planned for 2026. The company announced these developments at ILTM Cannes, highlighting both expanded brand vision and an accelerated pipeline of high-end properties designed to meet rising demand for personalized and immersive travel experiences.

With nearly 125 luxury hotels already in operation and more than 170 additional properties in development, Hyatt continues to position itself as one of the most forward-thinking players in the global luxury market.

Central to this next phase is the appointment of Tamara Lohan as Global Brand Leader – Luxury on an interim basis. Lohan, who joined Hyatt through its acquisition of the boutique platform Mr & Mrs Smith, brings more than two decades of expertise in independently driven luxury hospitality.

Known for her emphasis on design integrity and experiential travel, she will oversee brand consistency and strategic direction across Hyatt’s luxury portfolio, which spans Park Hyatt, Alila, Miraval, Impression by Secrets and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Her leadership further deepens Hyatt’s focus on storytelling, personalization and destination-led design.

One of Hyatt’s most anticipated 2026 openings is Miraval The Red Sea, a milestone for the wellness-focused brand as it expands internationally for the first time.

Situated on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island, the adults-only retreat will include 180 guestrooms and suites, extensive wellbeing programming and the largest spa in the region. Its debut reflects the global rise of transformative travel, with nearly half of luxury travelers prioritizing deeply personal and restorative experiences.

The property’s dramatic coastal setting and expansive facilities position it as a flagship for wellness seekers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Hyatt is also investing heavily in the continued growth of its Park Hyatt brand. The coming year will see the reopening of Park Hyatt Tokyo alongside new locations in Cabo del Sol, Cancun, Phu Quoc, Mexico City and Vancouver.

These additions reinforce the brand’s reputation for understated luxury rooted in architectural excellence and cultural expression. In Mexico, the Alila brand will expand with the opening of Alila Mayakoba, offering a refined yet nature-forward experience in Riviera Maya. Meanwhile, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will introduce new properties in Frankfurt and Nice, adding character-rich luxury hotels in two of Europe’s cultural hubs.

Together, these openings highlight Hyatt’s sharpened focus on entering markets that resonate with luxury travelers, developers and travel advisors. The company continues to strengthen its presence in high-demand destinations, delivering properties designed to offer both emotional connection and distinctive aesthetics.

Hyatt’s expanded leadership and ambitious pipeline signal a confident step forward as the company works to set new benchmarks for luxury hospitality in 2026 and beyond.
