Hyatt Inclusive Collection has announced the temporary closure of its eight resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica, following extensive damage caused by Hurricane Melissa on October 28. The company confirmed that all affected properties have suspended operations and will not accept new reservations until January 31, 2026, as teams conduct detailed safety and structural assessments.

The impacted resorts include Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, Dreams Rose Hall, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, Secrets St. James, Secrets Wild Orchid, Jewel Grande Montego Bay, and Zoetry Montego Bay Jamaica. Hyatt stated it is “conducting a detailed assessment to determine the extent of physical damage to all properties.”

The announcement comes shortly after Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, set December 15 as the target date for full national tourism recovery. While most of Jamaica’s travel sector continues its phased reopening, Hyatt’s extended timeline underscores the storm’s impact on the island’s hospitality infrastructure and the company’s priority on guest safety and long-term restoration.
