airBaltic has become the first airline to integrate a fully digital inflight shopping platform powered by Starlink connectivity, marking a notable shift in how airlines approach onboard retail. Through a partnership with InterLnkd, the Latvian carrier has launched AirMall within its Skynet Wi-Fi portal, transforming passenger devices into access points for a global e-commerce marketplace.

The platform connects travelers to more than 20,000 brands without requiring onboard inventory or crew involvement. Instead, purchases are made digitally and delivered after the flight, aligning with broader trends toward lighter, more flexible cabin operations. The system also integrates with airBaltic’s loyalty program, allowing passengers to earn points on purchases.

AirMall uses personalization technology to tailor product recommendations based on passenger profiles and destinations, positioning the inflight experience closer to a digital lifestyle ecosystem rather than a traditional retail model. The move reflects a growing industry focus on monetizing connectivity investments while enhancing passenger engagement.

As airlines expand high-speed connectivity through providers like Starlink, platforms such as AirMall signal a shift toward connected cabins where entertainment, commerce, and services converge into a seamless digital experience.
