Vrbo has rolled out a major upgrade to its traveler protection system with the launch of VrboCare, a suite of new policies and digital tools aimed at improving safety, reliability, and transparency for vacation rental guests.

Building on its long-standing Book with Confidence Guarantee, VrboCare offers enhanced support for travelers facing cancellations or check-in issues, with agents now available to rebook guests up to 90 days before arrival – an extension of 60 days compared to the previous policy. The protection is automatically included with every booking at no extra cost.

The new program also introduces trust badges and stricter host criteria. Properties with a “Loved by Guests” badge maintain ratings of 9.4 and above, while “Premier Hosts” must meet higher standards, including a 99% acceptance rate and 0% cancellation rate across all listings.

Vrbo is also debuting AI-powered shopping tools, including automated summaries of guest reviews, AI-curated highlights, and a property Q&A feature that scans user feedback for answers to common traveler questions. Listings will now feature guest-submitted photos for greater accuracy and transparency.

The update arrives ahead of the busy holiday season, reinforcing Vrbo’s commitment to traveler confidence and booking reliability.
