Island Routes has officially reopened many of its Jamaica tours and activities following temporary suspensions caused by Hurricane Melissa. The Caribbean excursion operator, owned by Sandals Resorts International, has restored a wide range of experiences, including ATV adventures, private yacht charters, river excursions, and cooking classes.

Additional activities will continue reopening in the coming days, with certain ATV and river tours modified to ensure guest safety. Animal encounters are also returning gradually through a phased approach.

The reopening aligns with Jamaica’s broader tourism recovery efforts after the late-October Category 5 hurricane. As outlined in this article on Jamaica’s Hurricane Melissa recovery, the island has been working rapidly to restore essential services, reopen attractions, and ensure readiness for the upcoming winter travel season.

Island Routes CEO Ryan Terrier emphasized that every booked excursion “plays a real role in keeping Jamaica’s spirit thriving,” highlighting how tourism activities support both local communities and the wider economy.

With Jamaica aiming to be fully operational by December 15, the return of Island Routes offerings marks a significant milestone. Travelers can once again engage with many of the island’s signature adventure and cultural experiences as visitor confidence continues to rebuild.
