HX Expeditions has introduced a new assurance initiative aimed at giving travelers greater confidence when booking cruises to Greenland. Branded as the Greenland Promise, the policy is designed to protect guests in the rare event that circumstances beyond the company’s control disrupt planned voyages.

Under the Greenland Promise, guests booked on any HX cruise that includes Greenland – including voyages scheduled for 2026 where Greenland forms part of a broader expedition itinerary – will have flexible options if HX is forced to cancel a sailing or if a traveler’s government issues an official advisory against travel. In such cases, guests may rebook onto any other HX voyage and receive an additional 20% Future Cruise Credit, applied to their new booking. Alternatively, travelers can choose to receive a full refund.

HX emphasized that all of its spring and summer Greenland cruises are currently operating as planned, with nine itineraries this year featuring destinations across Greenland’s remote and dramatic landscapes. The company described the Greenland Promise as a way to remove uncertainty from expedition travel planning, particularly amid heightened geopolitical discussions involving the region.

By offering both rebooking incentives and refund flexibility, HX Expeditions is positioning the Greenland Promise as a traveler-first safeguard. The move reflects a broader trend in expedition cruising toward transparent policies that help guests feel supported while exploring some of the world’s most remote and extraordinary destinations.
