Four Seasons will re-enter Berlin’s luxury hospitality market in late 2027 through a full conversion of the historic Hotel de Rome on Bebelplatz.

The project, developed in partnership with Milan-based Gruppo Statuto, marks the brand’s first return to Berlin in two decades and continues a collaboration that has already produced standout Four Seasons properties in Italy.

Hotel de Rome will operate as usual until 2026, after which extensive renovations will reshape the interior while preserving the building’s 19th-century façade.

The redesigned Four Seasons Hotel Berlin will feature approximately 140 guest rooms and suites, new dining concepts and bars, and expanded spa and fitness facilities set within the building’s former bank vaults. More than 1,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor event space will also be introduced.

Humbert & Poyet will lead the architectural and design vision, blending historic character with contemporary sophistication.

Located in Berlin’s Mitte district, the hotel gives travelers quick access to major landmarks including Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate, Gendarmenmarkt, St. Hedwig’s Cathedral and the Unter den Linden State Opera. Berlin Brandenburg Airport is under an hour away, with Hauptbahnhof just 15 minutes from the property.

General manager Christian Poda will oversee the transition and opening phase as Four Seasons prepares to establish a flagship presence in one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural hubs.
