Cyprus has reported a 16.5% year-on-year increase in tourism revenue for 2025, marking one of the most successful years in the island’s travel history. The surge was fueled by higher tourist spending, strong international arrivals, and robust hotel occupancy, underscoring Cyprus’s growing appeal as a premier Mediterranean destination.
In August 2025, the island welcomed 602,000 visitors, generating €581.8 million in revenue – up 14% from the previous year. The average spending per visitor rose to €966, with travelers from the United Kingdom, Israel, and Poland leading expenditure levels. Hotel occupancy surpassed 80% through September and October, reflecting sustained demand beyond the summer peak.
Tourism officials say the growth highlights the success of year-round tourism policies and economic resilience in the hospitality sector. With 2026 projections already showing promise, Cyprus continues to strengthen its position as one of the Mediterranean’s most competitive and sustainable tourism economies.
