Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are now operating under a single FAA certificate, a key milestone in their ongoing merger integration. The approval aligns both carriers’ training, policies, and operational manuals, though they will continue to operate as distinct brands for now.
Parent company Alaska Air Group said the move sets the stage for deeper integration, including joint labor agreements and the transition to a unified passenger and scheduling system next spring. At that point, Hawaiian’s HA flight code will be retired in favor of Alaska’s AS code.
Since acquiring Hawaiian in September 2024, Alaska has already merged loyalty programs, streamlined GDS policies, and deployed Hawaiian’s widebody aircraft on new transoceanic routes from Seattle, strengthening its Pacific network and long-haul operations.
